Did anyone else think Rog releasing his shit this morning over YouTube was a bit of a dumb move. My initial thought on seeing it was that it was a dumb move the morning of game day.

Hindsight a great thing I guess, but you definitely have to question how focused he has been with the circus going on.

Well Roger had one of his worst performances so I think we should give AKP his chance

Dolphins have 4 backs stuck in Reggie’s who’d instantly walk in to our backline. That’s the state of ours.

I do believe Mellars and Akp deserve a shot now as well

Commentator said Boyd was blowing up when they went right and CNK put in a kick cuz there was nothing on. Said Boyd needs to take control.

There’s no structure when Egan came off always, not sure if it’s the mandatory 65min for him these days or tactical to have Healey there.

That CNK kick was fucking gross.

He would never ever kick in any other situation.

Funny this was a carbon copy of the storm game 2024, TMM/CHT 3 win streak, SJ returns, we went up 2-3 tries first then everything went to crap after

Not quite carbon copy, Tanah's effectively had a different 6 every game so far (with CHT only getting 10 min or so before his HIA v Raiders) rather than there being a steady halves combo.

Weird feeling after tonight's game, a bit deflating which we haven't had to feel for a while 😔

In fairness, he did all that days ago. He's not the one pressing the buttons to edit and send it.

That being said, I agree with you because the news dropping this morning made it a talking point.

100% as it hadnt been released by the club.

Hard out the edge or side that Metcalf was on tonight was the absolute leakiest. Dunno night to comment more than that. Easy to place the blame with individuals but it’s a system. Weakest link etc etc. Not saying Metcalf or anyone for that matter had a spectacularly bad defensive game but there was enough misfiring pistons to make it look ugly. The way Douhei was reliably able to exploit front foot ball and a one on one to make a scoring situation was telling. Can be fixed but hard to watch as the set up gets absolutely dismantled 😬

Took the wife to the game and she even said..Tigers shift it wide with 4 or 5 guys looming out there and we just crumbled. Thier passing was fast and tight. I thought the crowd was really subdued all game. As others have said it was strange we seemed up for it with our aggression but somehow just got outplayed.

Same old shit, funny how there’s pages and pages of bleating after a loss and less posts when we get a win. Almost like it brings some out. Fair enough to be disappointed but perspective is important, it is disappointing though, tigers took on the same mindset as raiders last year who came over hostile. Reading the posts of a 50 point win in the game thread gave me cause for concern and John Nick was one of the few realistic that anyone can knock anyone over on any day. One or two observations for me was Ford still has that mistake in him at critical times as good as he’s been and Boyd missing another pressure kick that would put us in scoring distance. Tough to single them out though with many under par, Laban and JFH amongst the better though I thought

Why does Webster leave Ford out there for the whole game?
Ford is not immune to fatigue.

Yea I guess that's more what I mean...being talked about the whole day of a game etc. I bet his phone was going hard today with journos etc.

Just seems like something that couldve been done a few days ago, or in a few days.

Metcalf wasn't even medially cleared last week otherwise they would've brought him in over debuting Hanson. How was he ever going to perform better than CHT in his first week back? I get he's your marquee player so you have to get him back up to speed as quickly as possible but he needed to come off the bench for 30 minutes maximum.

The moment i feel bad for RTS or DWZ with they way the club has publically been hunting outside backs and it being plastered all over the media, I get reminded of the reason why in games like this. Just dreadful, nothing else to say really.

Jackson Ford came back down to earth in massive way, struggled with ball handling in key moments. Boyd with no creativity and that missed converstion on the last try isn't helping him beat the unclutch allegations. Funny how the expectations have now jumped for those two.

TT was mediocre; showed flashes of what he can do with the ball but struggled in the conditions, got dragged around a lot on wet pitch. Still needs to be the fullback for the foreseeable, but CNK didn't scream he should be staying at center, looked lost defensively

It annoys me when CNK goes to centre, that he starts to think that he needs to be a star. I love his attitude and how leaves his entire tank on the field so not necessarily digging into him (there were certainly players worse than him today) but he needs to play as part of the team rather than thinking he needs to do it alone. Reminds me of how Roger used to play at centre.

Congrats to Tigers who did not give up trying and werent overawed by the 'high-flying' Warriors. Not easy to come to Auckland and take home the two points, especially for a team decimated by injuries.

We have so much work to do. There were some uncharacteristic mistakes by all our players tonight. I also want to call our Leka. He contributed to 7 mis-tackles. He is still young and developing but i wish he would put as much effort into the defensive side as much as he loves the attacking side of his game. Webster said that the team had 1 training together. I suspect that the report that Stacey Jones said that Metcalf has been ready to go since round 1 was either misinterpreted, or Stacey Jones has no fucking idea on what is going on. And to be honest it if i were a betting man it would be a 50/50 call on which is true.

My assumption is that with Sharks & Storm next up, they want his reps up.

I really do think he is the least of the worries tonight.

He is a good defender too, so I have no interest at all in a CHT v Met defence debate.

Felt like there was two chefs out there tonight, a bit of a tug of war at times.

Two halfs that want the bulk of the ball and both not really reliable defenders. Created clunky attack and the ability for the other team to generate momentum on both sides of the field.

Not sure im sold on that pairing, CHT should feel extremely hard done by after watching that. Only foot the poor bloke put wrong all year was being KO'd.

Not sure why half the team decided to start running sideways tonight either, is Metcalf contagious or something?

His body language looked like a disappointed figure watching him at halftime with cameras in the sheds, could be me reading a bit much into it but I wouldn’t blame him either. Wondering if Metcalf is being eased back at five eighth and will reclaim halfback at some point?

Crazy statement from Stacey. 1 training session aligns with the eye test. Zero cohesion. I also think if Met was touch and go that early they wouldnt be dipping into the supplentary list halves only 3 rounds in.
