We need to take a long term perspective here. Keep in mind that this is the first game we have had under a completely new HB and FB. Was it perfect? Of course not. How could it be given this was Tanwah's first NRL game in 12 months. But given how many sides this year have completely shit the bed after losing their fullback and halfback, I think that was a really solid first hit out under Tanwah. I was expecting the attack to be a little clunky but we actually looked much more organized than we ever have under Luke. It's been 2 years since I've seen DWZ put into space like that.

Of course we will have to lift in the run up to the finals. But our relatively soft draw I think is perfect for building confidence in the new combinations. We have games against 3 bottom 8 teams (Newcastle, Tits and Phins) before facing the dogs in rd 23. I expect that we will go up a gear or two by then.
Yeah agree with all that, I’m just making a point vs a view from some on here that it was our best performance of the season.

It was an important win, in terms of our season and avoiding getting into a losing slump.

I think a lot of the individual performances were pretty good. A bit more flow as a team on both defence and offence is needed.

Tigers line speed was poor, the likes of the Bulldogs wont give us such an easy ride up the pitch. But theres still life in this season yet.

I can't shake the thought of Boyd at 7, Metcalf still 6. I think that creates a winning spine. I think the attachment to CHT is unhealthy. He has some strengths, but he's not as good as Boyd or Metcalf. I think Boyd/Metcalf is the combination which could take us to another level. Boyd's organization and kicking - you can't deny we didn't look good. DWZ was better. Taine flourished. Berry was on. RTS was better. Freeing Metcalf to just run through holes and set up the outsides, I think it could be fire.

All speculation. See you next season Luke. Tanah did very well and CHT is 6 (for his overall skills)

I would prefer some honesty around attendance
Its not the number of tickets sold but the number of folk who go through the turnstiles
Nah sold out means all available tickets have been distributed.
If there is no inventory to purchase it's sold out.

It's sad to see corporate tickets unused - but the club generate big money from those alignments these days.

Cht has been building a very good season i don't think Webster or me will agree with you at all.
Top 4 atm, great teams win off the back of great defense and Cht is the best defensive 6 in the game.

Just consider that we have lost two of our key players (Barney and Luke) and were missing another (Chanz) and we were facing pressure to reverse the two game slump.
No Capewell, we lose a Center mid game, there were lots of things against us....I am coming around to this being our best win this season....and that is based off our Hard grafting Aussies that glue this team together being out.

I think the Tigers beating the Roosters the week before puts to bed any dismissing of their threat out of hand.

It usually takes a new Warriors halves combo six weeks to gel.

"Hard grafting Aussies",
the bloke in a bar podcast review mentioned how instrumental Jackson Ford has been to our squad this year, his filling in when jfh and Barnett both were out he has really been a key part of the squad.

Watching that game again, I actually think us and raiders are the best grinding teams in the comp and the style could serve us well. You could see as the game went on that our physical defence put the tigers player receiving the ball in two minds on multiple occasions and they coughed the ball up. Our defence has taken it’s toll on many players this year, Trbojovich hasn’t looked the same since we played manly and many players have picked up niggles after playing us, Samuela Fainu late against the tigers too. I posted the other day I didn’t see us beating teams like the storm but the dragons showed earlier in the season that if you can stick with them, there’s a vulnerability there, especially a team like broncos too. Really exciting to see what we can achieve this season

To go against the grain, I thought Bloke in a Bar were a bit over the top in their praise for Ford. Granted he had a very good game last weekend, bar the missed tackle on the line & a penalty, but for Kemp to suggest we might not be in the 8 without him is way too far. We've won 1 out of 3 since Barnett was injured and against the Panthers & Broncos he wasn't influential. Don't get me wrong, he's an important cog going forward and deserves his flowers for his effort vs Wests (& also stood up in the second Raiders game) but I just thought they were a bit too complimentary of his season as a whole

They had Api, Starford, Luai , May and Luai wanted this scalp. He was geeing his team up for the upset. The tigers are an nrl standard side. There is no bad team this year unlike past seasons.

Now after bigging us up like this - we better beat the knights. I don't like the smell of Gagai at fullback - he could do some damage there.
