I can't think of any backrower who this season has scored tries running down both left and right touchlines. Is Leka the prototype for back row players for the future?
Different players for sure, but the aura around him feels a bit like Sonny Fai. Certainly when you think strictly Warriors, they don't come around too often for us so definitely a generational talent.

I forget who it was, maybe Willie Mason. When speaking about props he said young kids should be looking at a Reuben Cotter to mirror their game on(6ft/100kg) rather than a Payne Haas(6'3"/115kg) who is a complete outlier. The same probably goes for second rowers, young kids would be better off mirroring a Liam Martin or Capewell as they are far more common.

Our best performance of the season !
Why are you on repeat about something that simply isn’t true? We struggled to put away a bottom 4 side, 2 late tries made it look far more comfortable than it was. Our right edge D was horrible - any decent team would have put us to the sword. A lot of really good individual performances however no way that’s our best game of the season, not close.

In my humble opinion it was by far and away our best offensive display of the season. All season long we have been scoring most tries through attrition and then fluking some kick chase or a try through pressure. We actually left some tries out there as our centres were so shocked that they were actually passed the ball in space close to the try line that they wasted those opportunities. Next time they will ice them as they will be expecting them. Tannah boyd creates shapes. Metcalf sniffed out tries for himself. That it is a stretch he did also create tries for others but he did not utilise his outside backs as much as what was happening on Sunday.
Our defence yes has been much better in other games. And our completions and discipline have been better too. However this game gave me a glimmer of hope we can beat a top four team. Previously we have becoming unglued earlier in the season against the very best teams in the competition.
It was not that we won the game. Yes the game was a struggle. But it was our best effort so far from our offensive coordination perspective and in previous matches our red zone conversion efforts have been constipated even if we did win some of those matches more convincingly. I am judging it on how we played not on how we played relative to the opposition.

Tbh we all love his explosive power but ive actually been really happy to see when he plays 80 he shelves the highlight plays and just works and grinds, makes his tackles, does his hit ups and works hard. His numbers are pretty decent for a 19 year old learning his way. Obviously he has all the talent in the world but its so important he develops the work ethic, and what is pleasing is he doesnt shirk the workload and seems to have an attitude for it.

Yet still some try and paint him as a lazy off the ball "Konrad Hurrell" type, which is ridiculous. His off the ball work was evident right from the Vegas game. Yes he'll come up with an error or 2 or drop off the odd tackle, but FFS show me the 19 year old (or 35 year old for that matter that doesnt) people really need to stop confusing errors with "lazy".

How we use him going forward i think is the Eli Katoa/Storm route (obviously playing outside Jahrome Hughes helps) mixture of early ball, hole running with movement off the ball around him, targetting halves, and a weapon under the high ball. The boy's a keeper for sure.

Webster noted Lekas work rate too. I thought he was excellent around the ruck and Dimitric was taking a few of the ugly runs and gutsing it out.

The guns are going great.

Not sure where to put this question.
Why do they say it’s sold out when there’s so many blue seats everywhere.?
Is it because season ticket holders haven’t turned up.
I’m in Auckland for the titans game. Love to sit with all the hard core warriors fans. But only tickets in the south stand left.
Anyone have any contacts?

A few random thoughts:

Rocco could be a very good centre. I hope this one is not critical and he gets a sustained run at some point. There is a lot of upside.

Boyd was very good. In some areas better than Metcalf. But in perspective it was the Tigers. Give the man a few more games and see how he preforms under more pressure. But a very very good debut that I hope he is proud of.

Demi is everything that Marata should be. An absolute superstar in the making. Doesn't get the press Leka does which is probably a good thing. But I am looking forward to seeing him for many years to come.

CHT still hasnt proved himself to some punters on here. I dont know what he has to do. There would be very few 6s in the comp I would swap him for. Does his job and does it extremely well. I was happy to see him playing well with Boyd, his career has suffered from taking a back seat to way too many changes at 7.

Audi TT was outstanding and being a huge CNK fan I am now fully in the camp of moving CNK into the centres. The little man has a massive motor and heart. And I hope he can show it every week now.

I was on the fence about TSS but what a cameo off the bench. Another huge prospect for the future.

Overall, the Warriors of old, having lost their 1st choice 1, 10 and 7 would have used that as an excuse. This team hits different. Good 2nd tier recruitment, everyone steps up when required. We may not go deep into the finals but damn the future is promising.

Love you analysis mate. The Tigers have improved but they are what they are Wrighty. A bottom 4 team. And I love watching them and want them to do well.

Let's see how our '2nd string' spine performs against Melbourne or Canberra in October before we get too ahead of ourselves. As I said in my post above, this Warriors team hits different but let's just see how it plays out.

I appreciate your glimmer of hope. I wish I had even a glimmer. I go into every weekend wearing my Warriors PTSD on my sleeve 😁

Blue Seats at a sold out game = Season member and corporate tickets distributed but not used.
