In the rain. So fingers crossed its also wet tomorrow during our game.
It's all relative too. Ali got burned very badly on his edge by Gagai. We have young inexperienced outside backs with limited speed no matter who we pick who will all have their moments on defense. But keep in mind that the weaknesses go both ways: Derby is also a bit of a defensive liability too. That Bateman/VV/Derby edge leaked like 3 tries in 6 minutes last week I think

Made 8 tackles and missed none in that game. Didn’t have to make any tackles against tigers, but ran for 200m
because we dominated the middle. Best defence against dangerous attack is to make sure they never get out of their red zone. I'll repost this stat about tackles in own 20. If we maintain this, it won't matter if we play Ford as our left winger because the cowboys are never getting a genuine attacking set.

I'd prefer Capewell to centre or Leka to centre but hey. We've had Kosi, who isn't my favourite, Pompey who isn't some people's favourite, Berry who isn't some people's favourite, Capewell who isn't some people's favourite, Niukore who isn't some people's favourite, CNK who isn't some people's favourite, CHT who isn't some people's favourite, Metcalf who isn't some people's favourite, Ford who isn't some people's favourite, Tuaupiki who isn't some people's favourite and Webby who isn't some people's favourite. And we're doing ok.

So the moral of that story is...........????

it doesn't matter who we put in this year to replace injuries. They will all do a solid job. That's what's been happening all year. I'm still backing the boys to shock the doubters here again.

A shame for Leiataua. Better to have the player ruled out then getting injured during the game.

I hope it is only precautionary so he wouldn't do more damage playing. Having him back next week or the week after as the others coming back would be great.

Kosi has filled in well the last few games. Let's hope he makes the most of this opportunity again.

I'm sure Webby is doing the right thing here but it does frustrate me sometimes how overly cautious he is sometimes. It seems that even if there is a 10% doubt, he'll opt to rest the player, no matter how important. My guess is Ali could have played if he wanted to. Conversely Madge a couple of weeks ago lodged a request to get Arthurs to play against us despite his cat 1 concussion the week before. Whereas Laban is out straight away due to a concussion that I don't recall happening in the Knights game.

If he’s over cautious that’s good, last year he played till players are busted, SJ, CNK, Tohu and we lost all 3 outside backs in the same game, we have good depth players this year and everyone get to condition themselves, good for player welfare and longevity

Not sure how bad it is but he has last year's injury so that may have come into the thinking but also we have options to cover him. I thought Metcalf and his cramping hammies might need a week off and give Tanah or Te Maire a run to keep everyone polished

I'm sure this is the right approach. We aren't privy to all the information, so maybe Ali has been playing with injury all year. Either way, I'm not fussed. We've been very good at the next man up mentality this year, so I have no doubt we can still win this game.
