Team List Warriors v Cowboys - [Round 9, 2025]

Ripe for Healy to come in on the bench. This will be a fast paced game and I think having hooker cover could be the go. Healy to debut off the pine.

Good team otherwise - even if Jake Laban has to stand down for a week for protocols.
I would prefer the double hooker and healy to maybe jump on 13 for a little otherwise.

Didn’t really like TMM when he came on for the broncos. Never good to switch half mid game

Not sure if seeing him on one news put him in your mind but great to see him further confirm that the group of him, Halasima, Vaimauga and Laban want to stay at the club long term. What a time to be a Warriors supporter
Guru on the Bloke podcast made a comment about meeting them during Vegas. He mentioned how those young players in particular stick together and have formed a very close bond and how it reminded him of how tight players within the Penrith system were.

Nothing out of the ordinary. This team can do a job in the middle against the cows. Came across an interesting stat that we have the lowest number of tackles in our own 20 in the comp by far. We also have the highest number of tackles in the opposition 20 by far. If we repeat that trend for this game, we go a long way to shutting down the cows spine and winning this game.

Yeah, we're relying far less on yardage runs from the back 3 too, which is interesting - means we're limiting opposition yardage and pressing well on late tackles - the risk are the long range tries, which we give up a fair proportion of - so need to watch purdue and drinkwater primarily

Our work ons might be finishing off tries and blocking long range tries, and kick goals!
I saw a really nice analysis of the Koula try against the Panthers in the weekend, where he did a sweep around teh back of a block play from left to right (I can't find the video again) but I couldn't help but think we actually have the personnel to pull stuff like that too... and would love to see Ali shooting a gap like that with Halasima as decoy inside and Charnze out - edit: Leka is the wrong side for that, oh well dreaming double edit: oh shit! Leka is named on the left, next to Ali...!

Interesting stat. Our defence has been good for the most part. I'd be interested to see the stats for us conceding long range tries, as we are probably one of the more potentially susceptible teams to being burnt around the outside from anywhere in the field. We're a bit like the Raiders teams over the years, and would prefer to fight the game in the trenches.

We need to keep a close handle on Dearden. It would be good to throw plenty of defensive work his way.
