General Warriors Preseason 2026

If Roger is out for a couple of weeks to start the season, this trial could be quite big.

Given that 2 players who are already locked in - CNK and Pompey can both shift to other positions, I wonder if this is essentially a 5 way shoot out to see who replaces him.

Tuaupiki
Mellars
Kali
Pasikala
Putoko

With AKP obvs not playing.

All could fit in to the back 5 for us depending on where you would move Pompey and CNK (who also could even find himself in the 6 jumper).

Do we think it's a straight swap for AKP, or do the rookies have a shot? Would love if all of them stepped up for the occasion and nabbed a spot

I loved what Pasikala did in the trials. Very basic, But so poweful with his runs. He had to have multiple defenders on him and still drove forward. And he was busy.
He doesn't have RTS footwork. But he provides the metres that RTS gives us.
Still needs work on reading opposition attacking plays. Still plenty of time to learn.

Akp will be ready for round 1

I thought he looked good last week. I hope he can keep that same standard week in week out as that will be the test for him.
The season is long for the youngsters as they adjust to the professional "job" of playing every week at an intensity they might need to get used to. So while some of the young blokes looked young and green, they have an extra season under their belts and are still early twentys and younger.

Let's see how they kick on this season. It's exciting as a fan.

Going to be interesting to see how they get on this season without the leadership of Bunty, and the big units that have left us that had loads of NSW cup experience. Then factoring in the best forwards are now NRL regulars or on the extended bench.

Amazing to see Harry Inch go straight into six in NSW premier RL grade footy.

Expecting a rocky start to the season with new combos and having a union stand off. But they will be amaze balls next season.

Quite a challenge for our coach, molding this lot and keeping them positive after a string of losses and constant roster changes.

Makes me wonder who they’ll appoint captain this season to replace Kalani Going, who’s done an amazing job the past few seasons. Looking at age and someone floating around the first grade team in the trials, I wonder if it will be Geronimo Doyle?

Man I'm excited just to see that side on the paddock. Hope they get to play a bit of eyes up footie. Not sure about Doyle either but is that our future spine?
Makes me wonder if he’s potentially staying fullback, whether that indicates Tuaupiki is playing first grade? As was mentioned on niche cache, Norris getting time there was interesting, he could be apart of that spine in place of Doyle?
