Injuries, form, combinations and incumbency will probably be the deciding factors of whoBy round 12 we will need all of them even if a few guys are dissapointed for the first 2-3 games.
Capewell won't be dropped straight off the bat. His last season included tries, try assists, State of origin representation and multiple positions. Webby will value him. Having said that, I'd back whoever we put there other than Marata who I prefer as a prop.
Form and attitude are the big issues that previous local talent have struggled with most, and being constantly shuffled from the back to the middle and so on.Injuries, form, combinations and incumbency will probably be the deciding factors of who
Thanks Webby pretending to be dave.Form and attitude are the big issues that previous local talent have struggled with most, and being constantly shuffled from the back to the middle and so on.
Everyone is assuming Leka will be good to go and expect back to back seasons with more of the same.
People have short memories. Papalii, Katoa, two star forward juniors that hit a slump at the Warriors and left.
The reason I single out Leka is that he has in some ways placed the most pressure on himself, set a very high bar and therefore when it comes to the game going to his head, you could argue he is the one with the greatest jeopardy.
Looking for camera's in the in goal, glances at the big screen, strutting and bragging are a thing for young NRL players - a very addictive double edged sword.
When your motivation to play is driven by these dopamine and adrenaline hits, boredom and frustration, disappointment and quiet games can lead to flatness...mental fatigue.
Like I say, not aimed at Leka specifically, the same is true for Laban, Dimitric, Gannon, and EIT.
Therefore I think it is vital that we have this ultra depth in the positions our back rowers are stacked, because I can imagine ANY one of our stars being given arbitrary NSW cup time through the season to keep them fresh and help with their development.
It would come as a shock to most fans to see some of those names put on a rotation, but I think it is realistic to factor it in as a possibility because quite simply they are very young athletes and you manage the development of any young athlete in any sport differently to the way you use veteran players.

I dunno if you can take anything from a brief few seconds of a wrestling clip vs TSS.You could see in the wrestling sessions that Gannon will need to spend time in the NSW cup team to adapt to the NRL style of footy and the Warriors plays, but he'll be the one to watch and when given an opportunity in the top side will come on strong and impress many..
It is a wrestling contest in the ruck. Not directly. But indirectly. Very close to a wrestling match.Fortunately the NRL is not a wrestling contest, the tackled player does not grapple you.

You are a far more an expert than me. But I think you are downplaying it too much. Gannon was always going to be on an NRL learning curve when he got here and TSS had those grappling lessons last year and the year before so has him at an advantage not in talent but just in terms of previous lessons and exposure. Gannon will need to learn grappling this off season. That was only one rep he has plenty of chances to improve,Goes without saying.
The point I was making is that the ball carrier is not going to grapple you - I get the nuances, the battle for control of the ptb etc, I realise the ball carrier uses force to gain an advantageous body position in the contact - but you can seriously over read a two second clip of someone heavy grappling someone skinny in a simulated practice session.
Brad Arthur at the Leeds Rhinos is a ten year NRL Vet coach right? You are a far more an expert than me. But I think you are downplaying it too much. I, and the silent majority of this web site, are expecting him to make the 17, If not in game one then he will be ranked 18th and in the side very quickly. It is only vocal minority advocating he will be in the NSW cup.Brad Arthur at the Leeds Rhinos is a ten year NRL Vet coach right?
Before him Rohan Smith is son of the Legend NRL coach Brian Smith.
They use BJJ coaches in preseason at Leeds.
As I keep saying, don't assume based off some rando comment from a poster having seen a two second short clip that a player is destined for NSW cup and short on defensive skills for the actual sport, that is a mega over reach.
Whether or not Gannon needs NSW cup time is a subject I am neutral on, because I don't know as much as those that are sure it is a fact are pulling it out of a hypothetical ass.
I will leave that up to the coaches and won't be watching two seconds of a preseason clip and using it to pad a very generalist narrative to suit. Because frankly that is poor logic assembly to construct argument.
Too old for jersey flegg, it’ll have to be nsw cupI, and the silent majority of this web site, are expecting him to make the 17, If not in game one then he will be ranked 18th and in the side very quickly. It is only vocal minority advocating he will be in the NSW cup.
