General Warriors NSW Cup 2026

I’m not that big a fan, runs too sideways gets injured too often.

But he’s still an asset the team might need, too much enraged fan fiction going on with him.
Fiction? come on man, these folk take time out of their day to watch the game and provide some coverage too, purely out of concern for those unable to see games. If you don't like it, pay the subscription and post your own alternate commentary.

A lot of people were interested in Metcalf's first NSW cup game, if you read the pre game comments most were excited about it including me.

I don't dislike him, I can't stand when halves are greedy to the point of killing the game of people around them. I used to call out SJ in the Juniors for that too.

If Metcalf replaces CHT, TMM is gonna have a big problem with being allowed to play a seven role next to Luke on todays showing.
They'll be instantly twice as good
Funny but true.

If you were a Dragons fan watching today you would have been pretty excited by what Metcalf turned on. He was electric through the line eh.

Way too good for NSW cup. But shame he didn't play with his team mates.

First game back for Luke so probably over playing his hand by the sound of it. How was his defence? Putting the shoulder in? Owning his space? Thats a better indicator of his head space IMO

We are likely to need him at some point this season so the sooner he can get some decent form behind him the better - with and without the ball. First grade is built on defence, effort, team.
Honestly kind of hard to tell with how badly our forward pack got over powered. He seemed to do good on the tryline, but he also slid off a player being the first into a kick chase. Twice i think. Should hopfully get a game or two more in NSW cup purely based off of that first half to get back into things unless there is an injury. Same with Rocco, just feel like they need some more time playing first.

Edit: To put an interesting spin on it. Although i don't think metcalf's defense was below avarage in anyway. Cleary is already quite a bit better at it IMO.

I can’t read defence in Nzw cup with the poor bar tv coverage added to a lower quality tv
I just watch the flow
On Foxtel I can read it better as their higher long angle coverage is vastly superior along with the commentary
The lead commentator on bar tv appeared to have his mouth six foot away from the microphone

Nigh on impossible to read the defence while score updating off one camera angle.

Too much going on for old eyes.

I often lament how I don't get a good look at the forwards in these games. Fg you can see who is working hard.

Sorry haven't scrolled through the pages but how'd Berry go in his 1st hitout back from injury?

Pretty solid.

He is massive this year.

I guess the plan is to bulk our brittle centers up to make their frames way more robust.

He is missing a step of pace, can't say if that is all the extra weight with how much he has been out of the game.

He lead the first two kick chases, so the old Rocco is still there atop those tree trunk new legs.

His right arm was heavily strapped all the way down, I am no physio, I presume it is to do with stabilizing and supporting the limb.

Defence was solid, ran like a forward taking hit ups off the ruck.

He was crouching hurt at one point, played on a bit, looked winded to me, but yeah they pulled him off in the second half.

He didn't see any attack ball, no one did that was further than a short ball away from Metcalf. NO ONE> lol

I saw on fb metcalf floater to linnane then neal busting 3 to score? Anyway was he quick to the winger like before and was he able to sustain it? Annoying no attacking ball lol that’s what akp was missing
