Luke is like that though, I hope the Dragons spine are ready for that. He doesn't share the spotlight, and he is one of those Stars that can make that work for him.

That NSW cup side do not need to learn what it is like to over rely on one player coz if Cleary has a weakness it is that very quality.

As @roguei mentioned in this case it might be exactly what Jett needs to confront at this time in his growth.

Also he said that Metcalf (or was it @kos) would have been told to take the reigns.

I personally have a slight variation on that, I think the conversation would have been along the lines of Luke use your experience...not Luke go hog the space both sides of the field and play like Cleary is Charnze Nicol Klokstad when Charnze is forced into the halves...

First receiver both sides of the ruck, screaming to the hooker to feed him.

Takes on the line, makes a break - short ball to anyone there hoping for a try assist, turn over ball (shared fault, but he he is throwing those NRL passes to kids).

Takes all the kicks, rinse and repeat, makes a break short ball....turn over....

Kids start going into dummy half like Cleary to try to get some ball.

Our crude NSW cup game plan, which goes ok is no more....nek minute thirty points down....our lads start setting each other up around him.

It's always going to be a weird for players of his ilk to drop into NSW grade vs a half like boyd. He was also appointed captian as well by the looks of it. But it looked like with time it got better. Into the 2nd half, he let cleary get involved a lot more. It also looked like the jitters from Ratcliffe who was debuting into cup wore off in the 2nd half. It does seem like he was just given the keys to the team as the most senior player, but i expect it to look more like the 2nd half if he gets another run at at it.
