General Warriors NSW Cup 2026

What are we expecting from Metcalf people?

Digs in and fights for the Jersey?
Overplays Jett Cleary to put himself in the shop front?
Sulky lip drop deluxe?
Plays like a little rabbit, a broken man?
Or plays like "I got a Mil a season lined up from next year, better not get my jersey torn?

Gonna be interesting.

100% sure he will spend considerable amount of time coming up with some mic drop celebration, was he really telling the dolphins player “I’m He” when we scored of a roger knock on last year? 😂

Has Crosby kicked on at all? Start of the year in the trials the commentators were going crazy for his physique but he really seems to lack a motor for someone so jacked - he did approx sweet F.A the whole time I was watching.
He can still produce some highlight reel runs but is yet to get picked to start a single game of Cup

Against fan outrage, it looks like the Warriors made the right call. They must of picked up that his motor would not handle the faster speed of NRL. No doubting he is powerful but they choose to invest into Rodney Tuipolotu-Vea and Tepatasi Laumalili instead. Both decent sized boys with Laumalili a genuine monster. I would think too big for NRL but looks like they are seriously developing him for future action. Then the Fijian boy looks real good too - Emosi Ravosai

Why is he named at 6? Somehow Jett Cleary has more gravitas than Metcalf. What witchcraft is at work against Luke?
I have a couple of thoughts on this, neither that involve witchcraft....

My first thought is that this is AW being #ruthless and letting Metcalf know that he is the boss - 'You don't want to play 6 in the top squad? Ok, done, play 6 in cup instead'

My second and more realistic thought is that the current halves have won and played well so neither were likely to be dropped for this Panthers match. .Metcalf needs game time to prove that he is mentally and physically willing to contribute his part to the team. The reason he is at 6 is because Hanson is on the 6 man bench as back up for the NRL side, Jett is our 7 we need to continue to develop and Metcalf can get gametime at 6 without causing too much disruption to both Jett and the team. Which still equals AW being #ruthless

Unless LM has packedca sad why is he names at all? Webster is smart. Our vulnerable area is the Halves. Luke is a proven NRL 7. That is the priority, to get him up to speed. The fact he is leaving is not relevant. Jett can maybe get a debut later before the finals when we will probably rest players. Hanson has also soiwn he can do a job too.

Webby said he needs reps. Not a punishment. Just reps since he had two weeks off to sort his contract.

Yeah I think you are right. You can't afford to have guys who are impact players but gassed in 15 minutes anymore, the game is too fast and they will get torn to shreds defensively.

I still have hope for Toby, he's still a young forward and learning his trade. So much X factor. More of a long term investment.
