General Warriors NSW Cup 2026

It will be interesting to see how the NSW Cup team goes over these next few weeks. Obviously it’s a totally different team with lots of younger players in it. Not as much experience as last year. So we bound to see not as much consistency as last season

The nsw cup has been going very well in my opinion. Regardless of results, there’s lots of youth getting reps against grown men. Caelys was looking pretty ordinary early on but has been hitting his straps, same with Rodney! Looking forward to salalilo coming back to see what Rodney can do off the bench, because he’s got a lot of momentum behind his hit ups. Also Jack getting reps and bishop having a run too. Don’t think we can expect too much from the bois under first grade. It’s all about getting the right people and giving them some time to develop. Leka was a monster in the juniors, but never got unleashed until he got a good run in cup, was pretty much a whole season with an okay cup team. Gotta have faith in this development program because it’s producing the goods!!

No he definitely won’t, there’s 7 players ahead of him. Leka, Laban, niukore, Capewell, EIT, fatialofa, gannon.

This doesn’t mean he’s not an amazing future prospect but he’s a 2027/28 debut at the earliest

Of those, we generally carry 4 in game.

Its not outside the realm of possibilities that we have 2 or 3 of those injured at one point in time, or shift one to the middle or centre to cover for other injuries.

Off the bench for 20 minutes for a couple of games towards the end of the year would potentially help his development more than 2 normal games in Cup? You could certainly make a case for it.

Then he gets a few more games off the bench next year, and then starts 2028 off the bench as a 19 year old with 10 or so fg games.
