With Nathan Cleary deciding to go to market and no discussions about him, do people think we’re no chance, don’t need him or keen to persevere with who we’ve got?

Is he deciding to go to market?

I don't think he is, I don't think he could play against Penrith and realistically the only team that could afford him is PNG.

I think he is simply not committing to his Penrith future because he wants to explore all options.

Continued whispers about Aus Rugby being keen.

At his age though, a stint in the Super League would be most likely and presumably with continued suggestion that the NRL will take it over (or be a major shareholder) they would welcome with open arms a player like Cleary to lift the profile.

Well has indicated he intends to anyway. I just can’t see super league as an option even though he’d be closer to his lady, he’d be bored shitless with how much he’d own it. I’m not sure a reunion with Luai would be the challenge he’s after either as he’s been there and done that. Anasta was interesting the other night saying he’ll stay in the nrl and him being an agent gives me the impression he could know something? He’s floated both Cleary’s going to roosters (father and son) as a theory but there’s so much history and a sibling for us to be a consideration for him? Injuries keep showing us that depth is required and Cleary with Boyd backup would be great, with TMM further depth

Fish did it. Chrittah did it. Burton did it. Kikau did it. Luai did it. And a bunch of others I'm sure. Never write off signing miracles.
