When will it ever be a good time?
maybe....when hes good enough?

a forward you can initiate them with 10-15 min stint in first grade. With half you either get him on the extended bench as injury cover, or you play him starting, else you are just wasting a bench spot.

if hes good enough, webster will find a spot for him. But club has said numerous times that hes still developing and has a while to go. Not sure why the FOMO just because of his surname.

Cleary is already is next years Top 30 along with another half who's younger than him in Linnane. With Metcalf going, why wouldn't we re-sign Martin? It's not like someone such as Hanson is a better player
He's experienced, versatile, team first and doesn't mind playing cup, bench or starting in the NRL. And on top of that would be relatively cheap. He is an ideal back up or utility player.

If boyd recovers and return to where he left off and all goes well, I wonder if he will just play out his career here, say extend another 3 years by 2029 while 1 of Thompson/Jett has 1-2 years of raw FG games, locks down No. 6 similar to CHT or say Luke Brooks, deputize 7 when injuries happen, and they’ll be about 25-26 when boyd leaves or retires, and we continue to have an experienced halfback with 50-100 games taking over for the next 5-8 years

Linnane could be a backup 6 as soon as this year or latest 2027, and he could play centre or FB depending on how the Lemana/Radcliffs come through

. Not sure why the FOMO just because of his surname.
100% if his plan was always to develop here and f of back home almost nothing we can do and no point getting desperate. Now if his reasons for coming over are genuine then he will bide his time like others unless he gets crazy offers from other teams.

Zero tackle sauce so pinch of salt and all that but not surprised at all if true

He was on Sportnation Tuesday in a good interview. Sounded like that an extension was coming, he's keen to stay in NZ for his kids and lifestyle. He's not very keen on Superleague. He's the perfect guy to bring through younger players and fill holes for the next year or 2.
