Looked like a statement of fact.

Come on bro. you're better than this.
The statement "Metcalf is sulking" is logically incoherent. It is based on his management requesting a meeting to clarify his place in the club's plans. Now, first of all, the meeting is rumoured to have been requested. If it has not been, then we cannot assert that Metcalf is sulking. He may be sulking for some other reason, but we cannot say he is sulking. It is not logically necessary that he is sulking. But let us take the rumour as fact. Let us say the meeting was requested. It is still not logically necessary that Metcalf is sulking. It is possible he is sulking. Something that sits in the space between logically necessary and possible is logically contingent. It's truth is contingent on some new fact that would make it necessary. In other words the rumour being true ≠ Metcalf sulking.

So you've turned on Tanah Boyd then?

Nasty stuff, nasty.

(tongue in cheek people I think some need to chill a bit - it's ok you can still like Metcalf the wonder 7, I like him too, swinging both ways).
A bit more like I still want the team to win the premiership and issues like this can either derail or galvanise a squad. Regarding Boyd, I did not know his junior pedigree or what the experts saw in him to get him here and honestly thought his ceiling was being the boss of NSW cup. And really, how he is playing this season is still a shock and surprise to me that I absolutely like. So yeah five bucks each way.

Does it matter what number Jersey anyone wears here?

Do we put Tanah into 6 to appease Metcalf?

If both guys are smart, shouldn't they both be thinking, hell we could be one special halves pairing... let's win a title? Lets sit down in a room together with Fish, Clark, Egan... The leaders and sort this out now.

The one who loses here could be CHT. Who has played his socks off this year. Fairly he could get a much larger payday elsewhere.
I think it's the emergence of two halves wanting the boss seat

Lol Boyd was posting IG quotes last year that people thought was him throwing his toys :ROFLMAO:

Ya he had that how long do I wait IG post after ripping it for 2 months of cup, which posters here had a go at him, then he rejected the cows and took up his extension for this year, then got his chance via injuries.

Luke getting negative feedback in NZ and possibly vile comments on top from trolls is really unsurprising as he has 0 performance to back up his public case other than he was leading the dally m 11 months ago, like Israel Dagg said, just play man

This is really crazy. The guy said he wanted to play 7 at NRL level, the club signed him to play 7 at anyone when a number of other clubs would have signed as 7, things have gone unexpectedly and he's the second choice 7 and second choice 6, this isn't what he signed up for, he's asked to have a talk to gauge his prospects presumably, and if it's not looking good, to move to another club, which, by the way, would be good for our club too. There doesn't have to be a bad guy here.

Mark my words by the way. If Metcalf moves on, he will go with Webster's and George's blessing and good will. Because those guys are mature and level headed.

Also on that note, Boyd was signed as the backup and STILL had a little moment where he obviously wanted more. I defended him back then too.

These guys didn't dream of being a backup when they were kids...

I can understand why fans are angry about the Metcalf disruption. We’re finally putting out team performances we can be proud of, our recruitment and player development has been incredible & our pathways program looks the best it ever has - the club is in an incredible position. We normally handle things in house, the re-signings, the big recruits - all behind closed doors.

The fact that this is being dragged out in the public arena has struck a cord with me personally, and although it’s extremely clear the narrative they’re trying to create with this, but also the wording of articles, it’s evident the management are entirely behind all of this.

I have no anger directed at Metcalf, if he wants to look around go for it. A contract means f all these days. But for his management to come out publicly, when the team is in such a fantastic position is what pisses me off. None of this needed to be made public, and all could have been resolved behind closed doors. However now, during our well deserved bye, we’re chatting about how our star 7 wants to leave.

If he’s exploring options (fully entitled to do), or wanting a convo on where he sits moving forward, none of this needs to be done in the public arena. For me personally, that’s what annoys me. I can see why labels like selfish & non-team player are being thrown out, given the context. It’s a shame how a club can turn on a player so quick, but again, this could have all been avoided & is at the fault of both Metcalf & his management on how this has been played out.

Our marquee half on a long term contract is unable to make the team.

It's about as serious as it gets for an NRL team IMO.

But professionally I don't expect any drastic changes, they will clear the air, get onboard for a prem tilt this year and at the moment you would have to think it is 50/50 if Metcalf is here next year.

That's how I see it.
Which would be the best case scenario for all parties involved imo. We get to trial both halves and keep the better one suited to our team. With the demand of halves atm won't be hard to offload one on an early release(assuming boyd has been extended if we still have the luxury to pick by next year).and who knows metcalf kills it and earns his spot back. We've never been in this spot as a team

Not everyone can be batman. Let the battle continue and let's hope it turns into premiership/s

100% this.

Remember guys this is an aussie based rumor. One that no-one has corroborated. Getting angry or upset at anyone over that is naive. So all I can understand is that some fans are naive enough to get angry over a rumor.
