Remember Dallin returned to cup in 2023 after a calf strain and he scored 4 tries and people were like he's too good for cup, then I think Kosi got injured and he returned?

I just don't get why Luke's not playing cup at all this year to build the "look he's amazing scoring 20 points and a hat trick he's ready!" hype and fitness and put healthy pressure on Boyd/CHT to perform?
I think it was first public statement from Webby saying Boyd is here to stay basically which makes every go hmmm

Another issue is there is now serious pressure on Metcalf in every opportunity he has. Hard to see him not overplaying his hand when he next takes the field
This is my concern. It is only natural that he will come in underdone and will likely overplay given the higher stakes. I really, really want to see him just playing his natural game at 7 in NSW Cup for a couple of weeks.

Yep the conversation needs to be just take your time to build back up and as long as you perform you can take the 7 back

Some people said they never talk about us on 360 and boomfa 🤣
I don't think this kind of exposure is to help promote the club or acknowledge our success, it's going to be controversy.

Imagine your employee let the community forum know and admins to post on social media about how they're requesting a meeting for clarification of your long term plan for him AND (while the stand in manager's guiding the company to 2nd in the region when he's bedridden) he's only gonna be short term deputy manager. Holy cow 🤣

Edit: how many hoops did they get through to get to here, this could be the end stage.

This whole problem gets solved if Metcalf would entertain becoming the superstar fullback. Tough on TT but it reinforces our spine with star power and puts pressure on CNK to channel his own inner RTS to take on ALI or seek an early release.
Noway to FB. His hamstrings won't handle the workload of a FB. When SJ broke his leg then had similar hamstring problems as Metcalf it took his most dangerous weapon away from him. His running game. He reinvented himself and became a ball playing, game managing 7. Mets can do the same. He has the ability.

Pretty simple to me. LM goes back to cup and plays 7 or anywhere for that matter to show he is able to last a few games physically.
Then he can work on his game development down there as well. We were clunky as hell when he played 7 for us and yes, we won a few games in clutch moments on his watch but it doesn't hide the fact he's not technically as good as Boyd. I'm not sure he will ever be. Boyd this year makes shape and gives options which makes us dangerous

Time for the old SWOT analysis on the dilemma

SJ took years to find that role. There were some average years outside the highlights.

Don't you just think that Tanah Boyd is the better suited natural Half back for this team then. He was always regarded a prodigal talent in Australia that fell off the map at the Titans. His peak will be roughly two years from now and it could last 3 - 5 years from there. Surely his celling is higher.

Metcalf's biggest asset was his speed and willingness to have a go. If he has lost that speed now then why would you offer him the halfback role here?

Boyd is going well because the team is going well. May it long last. Should Boyd start playing like shit whenever that time maybe no doubt he will get dropped back to reserve grade and thats when Metcalf will come back in the team. I think he needs to stay.

Did i say here? Lol. I'm saying no to FB for Metcalf. His body won't handle the grind. He's better off staying put, As a half and reinventing himself. From a running threat to a ball playing , organising half. Wherever he chooses to play.

We're going well without Mets, it just a matter of if he wants to be a club man and fine tune himself in cup for a few weeks and waiting for his chance to possibly shine, or let his agent leak to Sydney media that he's calling a meeting for his boss to clarify his future and btw he's only gonna be 6 for short term 🫣

Since we're here, the only way he comes out well is him saying it's all misinformation and he does the hard yards, or this is a coordinated campaign from the club and Luke to part ways in a fashion that both parties win well.
