sure. But the main pt is that holic does tend to jump the gun. So I'm very skeptical about this new news about CNK. After all I think we heard last year CNK was going to SL before he eventually re-signed.

Metcalf was signed just a couple weeks after POS left for Redcliffe, so he must like him as a player. He has already signed Marata who was signed at the same time as Metcalf.

Newcastle is about a Auckland-to-Taranaki length drive to Coffs Harbour where Metcalf grew up. (Less of a drive that Brisbane to Taree at least lol)

Newcastle at full strength has a five eighth at halfback, and a fullback and five eighth.

Newcastle apparently has a mess of a cap at the moment. Shipping off the highest paid player in the comp would help level things out.

I wonder if Paige-Wilson can get an upgrade.
His numbers in NSW Cup are really good. He’s 108kg, so one of the bigger guys who could transition to first grade. The big young guys coming through dropped down from Cup to Flegg last week in a sign they are not ready to compete at this level yet on a regular basis.

There is still roster spot number 30 for this season as a carrot for Paige-Wilson.
Tepatasi Laumalili got squeezed out of the NSW Cup side because Jason Salalilo returned & has always been ahead in the pecking order so probably not a true indicator of how the club view his ability to compete at the higher level consistently
