Metcalf/Jett/Linnane are locked in.

This is where it hurts Boyd or CHT... one has to go.

Do you let 'the best kicking game in the game and team director go vs. The best halves defender in the comp and the heart of the team'?

Metcalf to fullback - the solution?

I'd prefer Boyd/CHT/Metcalf with young Linnane/Jett as back ups when 2 halves get hurt. Otherwise scenario 2 we'd end up with Jett 7 CNK/Hansen 6 (actually happened this yr already - 4 injured halves). If Linnane can't get going he needs to go or change to a development or train/trial contract, did we lock him in the 30 or the next 3 years already?

1. Metcalf 6. CHT 7. Boyd. 9 Egan in the preseason for 2027 might be worth the gamble, still have TT/CNK for FB insurance, if Met pulls it off CNK can go to SL to chase $$. Then we don't have to sign Ponga 🤣

@Dannevegas your Metcalf to FB theory is getting some traction lol

Would love to see Metcalf at Fullback but where does that leave CNK and the Midget?

So DWZ and RTS to WW and GA - we probably end up with a bit of cap to spare? I assume we won't re-sign Berry unless he somehow returned and stayed injury free - will we just promote a junior?
I reckon we could probably get away with offering Rocco unders to stay which I wouldn’t mind. Pompey is off contract at the end of next season and will be 29 so he could also be on the chopping block.

Also, Anderson can play on either side of the field which is handy.

Mitch Barnett will officially join Brisbane in 2027 after the Broncos and Warriors completed negotiations over the Origin prop’s release from the New Zealand side.

Grant Anderson will quit the Broncos at season’s end after inking a $1.2 million deal with the Warriors. his masthead can reveal the Warriors have got their man with Anderson agreeing to terms as part of a transfer deal after the Kiwi club released NSW Origin prop Mitch Barnett on compassionate grounds.

The Warriors wanted a player in return depending on his destination and after Barnett signed a three-year deal with Brisbane, the two clubs began talks last month on a potential Broncos recruit.

Now the negotiations are complete, with Anderson agreeing to a three-year deal with the Warriors until the end of 2029.

It is understood the deal is worth around $400,000 a season, with Anderson to see out the remainder of the year with the Broncos before moving to New Zealand for 2027 and beyond.

The Broncos were reluctant to lose Anderson and tabled a counter offer, but the Warriors’ deal was more lucrative and too good to refuse.

The 26-year-old only arrived at Red Hill over summer from the Storm, where he played 50 games, before adding a further two matches for the Broncos this season, making his Brisbane debut against his former club in round 3.

But Anderson suffered a knee injury the following week against the Dolphins and is sidelined for the next 10-12 weeks.

The Warriors initially expressed interest in boom Broncos Academy young gun Antonio Verhoeven, but Brisbane rejected that transfer, prompting the Kiwi club to turn its attention to Anderson.

The Warriors were keen to bolster their backline stocks and the well-built Anderson is capable of playing fullback, wing, centre and five-eighth.

Broncos coach Michael Maguire is a fan of Anderson and was hoping the Fremantle product would remain at Red Hill, but Brisbane bosses have struck an agreement that satisfies the Warriors’ wishes.
