I can’t really imagine Anderson leaving the broncos and moving to nz to play reserve grade so that makes me think

A) they’ve given up on Rocco.
B) they’re keeping cnk at fullback.
C) either warbrick isn’t coming or rts is leaving- possibly both.
If Anderson was available this week, would he make the team? I would say he would be named right centre. The player named in that spot is getting named there due to a lack of other options and whilst its great hes getting reps in first grade, his defensive abilities have stayed pretty much the same since the trial games. Decent teams would rip that channel apart.

That said i believe he will come next year on a 2/3 year deal. The best part is he will provide a lot of cover and depth and be there to push for a spot. If AKP, Tanah challenged themselves, why cant he? Its not like he is a superstar player that teams would be lining up to get.

Not if I was picking it- I’d prefer to stick with Ali- he’s been getting better each week and has more upside- although I would also be tempted to move cnk there and keep taine at the back.
I’d even rather just play Leka there.
I wouldn’t touch Anderson- just let the broncos have Barney and walk away if he’s the best we can do.

Decent teams would rip that channel apart.
Reps will help him I still believe.

Roosters ripped his channel.
Raiders saw him desperately trying to improve and skinned him and Dal and that whole edge but he at least backed himself to get his intercept.

Newcastle were top four but yeah. I think he's safe for another game at least.

Boyd is already on the market for 2027. Big call needs to be made and quickly you'd have to say.

Definitely, this is much bigger than "who should wear the 7 when Luke is back".

We're now talking about the possibility of a multi-year high-value contract. After just signing a half to a multi-year high-value contract.

Jackson Ford now requires a multi-year high-value contract. We have extended all junior talent which ties up cap for years ahead.

The real question is, who are we prepared to let leave in order to re-direct cap:

RTS - allowing him to look means we are
DWZ - yes
Egan - will want another decent contract, can be approached in November
Jett? - path blocked
Healey? - Next contract definite upgrade
CNK - Last contract surely
Hansen - path blocked? Be the backup?
Capewell - With the rise of Boyd if money needs to come from him then you have to just do that.
Berry - signings would suggest we are moving on, he is off contract.
CHT - very tricky one, loses spot, be a utility? Works if TT goes to fullback
TMM - gone surely
Niukore - Nice of him to pull out one of his best games in a looooooong time against the team that wants to sign him.

Of the above list, if only Egan, CHT, Healey are here within 2 years I would be happy.

Rocco isn't worth investing in long term

Anderson isn’t flashy but solid and dependable would be the starter until proven otherwise

Barney’s on big money, Marata probably another half a million, TMM not cheap either, Berry’s not on minimum, that might be enough to obtain Boyd, and upgrade the boys, letting go RTS, Dallin and Cape certainly will, but all in the same year might be overkill?

WW and GA aren’t exactly oozing with aura and leadership on and off field…

Finally some sense, agree with most of the list. I don’t mind forking out to keep Boyd but it means hard questions for every veteran contract.

I think it's a fair assessment to suggest we should value first someone that can stay on the park.

That’s why I value Boyd if he can keep it up against big teams. He stays on the field, has very good speed and takes the line on with a huge boot and torpedo on top of running a team that’s unleashing the inner jungle ball this year 😂

Boyd might wanna ask for a big contract before we play the Storm though, that’s the “risk” and uncertainty for him

We’re talking about a guy that’s played 16 games at center in the nrl not a 150 game veteran- Ali’s started more games at center than he has- I don’t see why he gets a free pass straight into the side- we’re top of the table.

Don’t forget getting Broncos to release a new signing that happens to be our weakest position sets a precedent for future compassionate releases, storm identified him then broncos recruited him, this is a landmark trade where Aussie teams going forward can’t just grab a player without giving up a FG player that’s not trash. Unless we are paying GA Barney money we still have leftovers to work on the roster

In a weird way imagine he was kinda unsure of coming but then sees Ford leading the dally m after Metcalf, and Barney, Egan and now Boyd leading the comp…there will be some fantasy going in his mind maybe that sealed the deal.
