I don’t get the interest in anderson- really hoping it doesn’t eventuate.

He was pretty solid on Friday vs storm, dragged their winger to touch too, seems to be not injury prone? probably can do everything Berry does without dislocating his berry. If we have a solid centre rotation and keep our forwards away from playing centre it would be a plus, if we get him probably make them release him now

The Warriors are reportedly “on the verge” of securing a replacement player from the Broncos as part of Brisbane’s deal to sign Origin forward Mitch Barnett.

Warriors CEO Cameron George was adamant at the time that Barnett’s impending release was announced that the club wanted adequate compensation in return, likely in the form of a player.

It appears the Warriors have landed on that player, with Code Sports’ David Riccio reporting on Triple M that Andrew Webster’s side is close to securing a swap deal for Grant Anderson.

“This is in the stages of negotiations as far as what the deal looks like and how much money but I’m also certain this will eventuate and Grant Anderson will end up at the Warriors,” Riccio reported.

It means Anderson will join Storm flyer Will Warbrick in joining the Warriors, which leaves the futures of Dallin Watene-Zelezniak and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck up in the air. Both are off-contract at the end of the year.

Riccio said the Warriors want to get a deal done with Anderson for next year before turning their attention to whether an immediate swap could be in the works.

Anderson got his first run for the Broncos this week after grand final hero Gehamat Shibasaki was dropped.

“They want to get the deal done for next year first and then work out is it a possibility to go straight away.”

Hmm so Barney wants to go now?? Always thought if it’s the kid it would be pretty urgent? The way we are going we can go a long way with Barney for final year…

Looks to have played all positions in the backline except 5/8 and can kick.

and can goalkick

Ahh that makes sense, we urgently need competition in the goal kicking department.

Gee lots of games on the edges, seems to have genuine center wing versatility (even spread, not like our young edge players that lean heavy on one or tóther).
