We probably could do with a ready made outside back right now, CHT out, CNK not sure how serious, and if Ali goes down, Cape's out too, it's Leka, Gannon and Roger...are the Cup centres ready?

No way he’s under any pressure, he’s the perfect foil for Egan and one of the best young hookers atm
He is a talent - on a couple of occasions last year he was clocking off as an inside defender. That was particularly concerning when he was playing small minutes.
The 6 man bench will really help him get more game time which is great as he needs to be playing.. but Webby was picking TMM as a utility ahead of him at the end of last season. Obviously a large part of that was for utility value - but I also wonder if it was due to a few 1%ers he was missing. I think it’s fair that someone who couldn’t make the 17 at the end of last year should be feeling some pressure - but admit that is quickly going.

He looks electric so hopefully this is his break out year

We arent playing 2x 7s and Metcalf isnt going to revert to playing 6..

Boyd is gone. He's too good to play Cup and we just made out big play for our 7. The question is who plays 6 next to him
I agree with not playing 2 sevens.

If Boyd is gone what do we do for the other half a season+ that Metcalf is our for?

We will probably do something dumb like play Boyd at 6 and Metcalf at 7 when he is back. Have a horrible feeling that LM coming back may be more disruptive than positive similar to SJ returning to a performing team in his last season.

I think CHT has done everything and more to keep the 6 jersey and will get an extension. We look very light in the halves if he doesn't.

TMM unlikely to be resigned if Metcalf gets through the rest of the season uninjured and our youth show enough improvement.

We are only two games in so still a lot to play out.

One thing is that Boyds game last night is the best all round game from a warriors 7 I have seen for quite a while. Particularly given the quality of the opposition and losing our 6 early.

I mean Webby has made it clear in press conferences/interviews in the past that they are just numbers on the back of the players backs and that it’s advantageous having both guys being able to play on either side of the field.

Also re-signing Boyd, Capewell and CHT will fuck our cap space. Those are 3 veterans that could command a starting position, having a great start to their contract year. There is absolutely no way we can sign them below market value (maybe CHT). Time to send them onto their new homes and bringing in the next batch of pups.

It was always hard to imagine Linnane coming straight over and not even playing nsw cup and being an option, but signed straight to a top 30 contract gives reason for consideration? Really interested to see him and the club obviously giving him all the time necessary to rehabilitate from his previous injuries. Very fast halves pairing if he and Metcalf gel. Boyd’s form could be giving the club some pondering? CHT played well last week and was unfortunate this week. The way Webster gets the most out of a player is really showing

Yeah I forget about Linnane. Big fan of CHTs and I've been a supporter of Boyds, but you have to have one eye on contract status and one eye on recruits. You would have to be mad in this market to let 2 halves that you want to keep, enter into their negotiation year.
