From a brief read of the Bulldogs forum it seems like he's played every position other than prop while being there. Hes primarily a half but made the NSW cup team of the year at centre.

Nah he won't read any of this thread, and even if he did he would be largely delighted by the excitement and positivity about his reception by most fans who have been scrambling to catch up with this NRL dark horse child prodigy.

He is a VERY exciting prospect for the Warriors, where all of our halves lack in some way, this bloke has those missing pieces. That is sick. Enjoy it man...let the over inflation continue! release the Laurie Daley spotters!
Just because he won't read the forum doesn't mean some half-ass journo won't see the hype and publish it as the second coming of christ. Thats a lot of pressure to put a man under - especially if there are larger reasons hes needed to return home.

I don't agree, but I don't want to make an argument for arguments sake since your sentiments come from a good place.

Bear in mind that by choosing the Warriors, his relative hype and media value is going to be massively overshadowed by the name Cleary. Even Harry Inche's story is sexier than this guy's from a media time investment click bait pov.

And then there is the log jam for FG halves with TMM CHT Metcalf and Boyd occupying column space....this fullah is a nobody except in our lunch times.

He certainly came to the right club for removing pressure from players, look at what Webster achieved for the embattled low on confidence Tanah Boyd in an offseason, and like I say he is gonna be invisible here for a while till gets named in the 17 (and again I trust we can believe that means he is in a good place if we trust our coach).

I hope he goes to the Eels or Knights.

He was prepared to come to the warriors when we were rebuilding and he’s been a key part of our cultural shift. I would prefer he went to a lower 8 team and helped turn them around.

I hate how the top teams (eg Broncos) pool talent and for the good of the sport don’t want him heading to a title contender as just another cog in their wheel. He has so much more to offer elsewhere.
It’s also just the optics of the situation too. I’m sure the reasons for leaving are legit but compassionate releases rarely go to a worse team

Not sure the NRL affords much anonymity..
Agreed.

The NRL is a massive commercial operation. Every single NRL club is a multi-million dollar business. Though they talk about being family clubs for branding, effectively all players are product/cattle. The key is creating a culture around that which the players and then the fans buy into.

It takes roughly 20 pathways player to achieve one NRL standard player.
It takes roughly 100 pathways player to produce 1 or 2 players who become long term NRL players.

The warriors in their current format seem to be batting above that average but still to some degree it remains to be fully seen.

We must be honest as fans and supporters... Tia is a product but he has come to the best club possible in the Warriors that actually seems to look after player welfare. At the end of the day though, if he hits his metrics he gets upgraded. If he sucks, the clock is ticking to release.

What is Luke Hansons contract status? Considering Tia has fallen into our laps, could he be one to make way post 26'?
He's in his last year. I thought Tia was out of leftfield, but TMM is hardly ever healthy. Tia was the hot prospect not too long ago. Hansen seemed to be resigned to leaving according to one of the posters here. So this shows us that Cappy and Webby do a lot of low key scouting behind the scenes.

We have to have patience. I think they realized that having too many young bucks in Cup is a leap too far. They struggled to keep up last week. Some gone back to Flegg. Then Tia and the big bopper arrived this week. No coincidence I reckon.

And they are doing a great job. If they listened to the posters on this forum we would still be going after all the big name players and screwing our salary cap. Their approach is to grab unknowns at bargain basement price and turn them into superstars.
Long live Cappy and Webby.
