There's too much of NRL gossip that is just "I know someone who is close to player X and he told me he is moving to club Y." And when pressed, it comes down to "trust me bro".We went through this with Matai back in the day. Manu isn't coming here. Let's just move on.
A lot on here could hopefully learn from what you saying here...
FUCK IT LETS JUST POST MY OPTION LOUD SO EVERYONE WILL UNDERSTAND MY OPTION THANKS

This is not even a baseless rumour but we all know how things like this can steamroll.

With the movement of Haas to Rabbitohs next year, spotlight is being put on their spine with the general consensus that Haas is a phenomenal get but the current Souths spine needs improving.

Joel Caine on SEN radio just chucked it out there that he feels Sam Healey would be a key signing to play behind Haas & Fifi.

He then followed that up by referencing Corey Parker who has said the Broncos should replace Haas with Mitch Barnett

Not sure if it’s true but they in the 10 day window where the club has the right to provide another offer and apparently broncos have offered $1.4 million over 5 years for Haas

in other words- he doesn't know shit and he's just throwing stuff out there and hoping something will stick. Granted, he's probably not putting himself out there as a journalist. But the line between journalism and professional opinion editor is really not strong enough in league media.

Yea exactly. My point is that this gets back to Healey bloody easily.

Yes it does sound to be true.

The fact that both clubs strangely referenced the cooling off period in their statements had lead many to think there was more to come on this.

They are suggesting Barnett is off-contract. Is that true?

Barnett off contract end of 2027, so can be approached in November. Feels to me like Barnett is hopeful of success at the Warriors and is considerate that Webster has sent his game to another level. He’ll be 33 in 2027 so I’m not sure we extend him past 2027 either? Perhaps a season at a time deals at that point? He’s had a lot of time off the field too since joining the Warriors

Barnett said he came he for his initial contract and was going to move back to Australia. I can't recall his exact quote but it was along the lines of moving from Australia would be a unique experience for his young family.

He's arrived here and turned his career around. Become an Origin and an International. Also a leader.

He has also said he has enjoyed it here. The coaching and the playing group has helped, along with results.

So, he'd be hard to lure away. It will cost any club to sign him now that he is an Orgin and International level player.

The debate will be similar to us re-signing him. His age will be up there. How long does he want to play on for vs how long you want a guy on your books in his mid 30s.

Then from our point of view. Is he settled enough in NZ to stay another year or two. Even returning to Australia may be narrowed down to certain locations depending on what they want for their family.

Nine news last night was pushing the ‘Broncos may still keep him’ angle hard last night
From what I’ve seen around the place is his old man is a massive rabbits fan and was Payne’s favourite club growing up apparently. Have seen also that broncos negotiations hardly even got off the ground? Lots of different theories

Sharks have a couple props too, someone like Toby Rudolf or BHU could become an option? Having Willison is a good start and Ben Te Kura is a prospect
