I know we have a few up and coming halves on the books but is it not odd there’s seemingly been zero talk (that I’ve seen anyway) on CHT’s contract? Like no word from the club on potential extension, not even any low quality news articles linking him with other clubs? Like there’s been nothing at all? Makes me nervous…

And to go with that Linnane impressing in preseason. Always was my view that he was obviously rated highly to go straight to a top 30 contract. It was about this time last preseason that we were learning that CHT is looking like he’ll be the five eighth for 2025, I think he’ll start the season there but I think Linnane is who they see as their five eighth at some point? Linnane’s injuries and if they continue could alter that of course? I wonder if CHT could be more in competition with TMM for the utility role? And if CHT perhaps even sees himself as a utility?

I don’t see Webby keeping TMM beyond this season so CHT is his obvious replacement.

Probably 2027 Metcalf/Linnane, Jett/Thompson to ease into FG and CHT in case of injury/form issues. Surely Inch or one of them is groomed as a FB our weakest area and Drinkwater shows how lethal a half at the back can be. Anyone seeing which position these halves are training at?

Noticing a lot of Te Maire and not a lot of Chanel being featured in the warriors instagram posts lately, including a training one just uploaded today... could be nothing, maybe CHT pulled up sore or something? Or hopefully I'm just reading too far into it haha..ha..

Hope so. CHT has been solid and durable and we have much bigger fish to fry than CHT IMO.

He's there as a foil for a flashier half. It would be good to see how he goes with this pre-season, a fit Metcalf, dynamic second rowers around him and a bit of speed out wide. I can dream...

CHT gets so little credit - covers and creates when the other half goes missing, our first picked 6 by a long margin imo

Other than Leka, I felt like two other players who featured here a bit were Pompey and CHT.

CHT had a decent season. Could be better obviously, but then he'd be one of the best 6's in the comp.

He was ranked 11th in the NRL for try assists: https://www.zerotackle.com/nrl/player-stats/2025-nrl-top-try-assists/

Similar strike rate to Cleary, Reynolds, and Hynes.

I like it, but when pompey and CHT are scoring/setting up most of your tries .... the world's a wierd place...
