I'm not that bummed about not getting NAS if the reporting is correct that we likely won't. I'm perfectly willing for Webby to put his faith in our rookie depth. Would we be a better pack with NAS? Of course. But in relative terms, our backline is where we have the greatest weakness. Put a quality center inside AKP alongside Mets coming back in has got to be the priority.
Talk first of Davvy Moale and now NAS gives the impression we’re after another middle forward? If they miss NAS, I’d expect they look at another?

Someone at Timoko's level would make an immediate difference to our attack despite his supposed defensive frailties, we're really being let down by Rocco's injuries and Ali apparently not ready for nrl. Sorry Raiders but it's about time Matthew got homesick for Penrose.

Yeah id take Timoko if the price was right. Was extremely elite a few years ago but has come back to the pack a wee bit...I wonder what his contract value would be?

Could see Webby get him back to those top performances, and as he's in Canberra shit weather shouldn't bother him too much

I was surprised to see he has a mutual option for 2027 and a club option for 2028, so does a mutual option for 2027 mean he's able to negotiate and test the market now, for 27?

From a Herald premium article

The chances of Nelson Asofa-Solomona ending up at the Warriors next season are slim.
The Auckland club has been linked with the Kiwis enforcer, who is currently a free agent, after being released from the final two years of his Melbourne Storm contract last month.
There is definite interest... from the Warriors, who feel that the imposing middle forward could be a good fit within their current roster. They have one spot open for 2026 and there have been discussions with Asofa-Solomona’s representatives.
But it remains an unlikely scenario, mainly due to financial reasons.
The club believe the 29-year-old would be a good addition, while the presence of such a big body would alleviate the early season absence of Mitch Barnett and take the pressure off the co-captain with his comeback from the ACL injury sustained in round 14 last year.
Such a move might also work for Asofa-Solomona, who has lived in Australia for almost half his life. A proud Kiwi, he could reconnect with his roots and would likely become a cult hero among the Warriors fanbase.
But the Warriors simply won’t be able to match what he will be offered elsewhere, because of cap space.
Asofa-Solomona may be willing to take a lower salary than the reported A$850,000 ($978,000) he was on at the Storm, especially as he received a pay-out from the Victorian club for the final 24 months of his contract.
But other clubs have a lot more room to move, especially the cashed-up Eels, while at least two other Sydney teams are understood to be interested in Asofa-Solomona.
The Warriors already have a lot invested in their pack, particularly with James Fisher-Harris, Mitch Barnett, Wayde Egan and Marata Niukore.
Leka Halasima signed a new deal last season, while Erin Clark is in line for an upgrade, off the back of his performances in 2025. Then there is Demetric Vaimauga and Jacob Laban, whose respective values will only increase.
So there isn’t much left over, which means Asofa-Solomona would have to be attracted for other reasons, like family, living in Auckland and being part of the Warriors project under Andrew Webster, as the club can’t pay him what he is worth on the open market.
Of course, it is still possible that Asofa-Solomona doesn’t play at all next year. The rumours about R360 continue – if that competition ever gets off the ground.
And, as he outlined to the Herald earlier this month, boxing appears to be a major passion, with the desire for a bout early next year.
Asofa-Solomona also admitted he could just take a year off, though a continuation of his NRL career appears the most likely outcome for 2026.
The club have also – again – been recently linked with Kalyn Ponga, after the Newcastle star was photographed chatting with Warrior’s recruitment manager Andrew McFadden at the club’s sport bar, Full Time, in Kingsland earlier this month. However, there is nothing to it.
Ponga was there to record a podcast with former Kiwi Sione Faumuina, while McFadden was watching the horse racing with some other Warriors staff and friends. A potential move to New Zealand just doesn’t stack up, even if Ponga seeks a release from his Knights contract, which runs until the end of 2027.
The club have invested in Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad over the next two seasons and also have great faith in Taine Tuaupiki.
But most importantly, there isn’t the money available, for Ponga, who is on a reported A$1.4 million ($1.61m) annually at the Knights. It would require a significant reshaping of their cap priorities – and the release of some important players – which the Warriors have shown no desire to do.

Article reads like it has been gleaned straight from here except for the completely made up part about the Warriors cap (they have to put something in there that sounds like they have inside information).

Load of bollocks.

The amount of hype he’s getting on twitter is crazy

Is it justified? Haven’t really got to watch him play other then a couple of highlights
If they can change his fitness to league from Union then yes the hype will be justified.

He wasn't able to run around at the pace of League for long enough to make his inclusion in the NSW cup worth it.

The biggest issue was his build, muscle bound, heavy, tires rapidly after explosive bursts of speed and power.

He jogged around a lot, like a typical Únion forward, trying to preserve energy for short explosive periods requiring mainly strength.

So his work rate was affected off the ball too, he was not very mobile in defence.

The thing is though, he was leaning down towards the end of this season and starting to look a bit more mobile and less stolid and heavy.

People need to remember that you cannot just take a muscle bound guy and change their physique in a season by making them do cardio.

The diet has to change, the types of weight training, the running program. Losing muscle mass intentionally is very hard on the organ systems, bad for sleep, hard on the kidneys, and heart, plus it effects the brain and makes you generally feel like shit all the time.

A muscle bound guy will go backwards performance wise before he stabilizes and starts to adapt.

But in the long run it is worth it, takes about two years, the Warriors have already got him half way there.

If he can be a leaner longer minutes version of himself over there he will be a star.

It was not a revelation to learn he missed games this year with diarrhea, gastrointestinal upset is a symptom of metabolic changes from severe diet alterations.

RTS has been warned against r360 by his manager. The article mentions he and Warriors could be open to an extension, or could look at other nrl clubs
Well, doesn't say that exactly - more that 360 is having issues reassuring the agent that they are viable and in that situation there's no point in advancing specific contract clauses... biggest news in that story is that they've signed a HOA, which is an intention to agree

Also states the heads of agreement expired at the end of September.

“There’s a couple of simple reasons for that. One is that the process of getting a full long-form agreement is not complete. What everyone signed up to, if you want to use that term, is an expression of interest or heads of agreement.
“That was the document that expired at the end of September. After that, no one that I’m aware of has any obligation to carry on and sign with R360 until the long-form agreement has been agreed and signed.”

That last quote, he'd probably need to get a lawyer to review. As an experienced manager, he'd likely be right. Just best to do your due diligence.

He is right, though the full contract should list all of the items required in standard sporting requirements like termination and injury protection. Sounds like to get the competition moving forward, R360 have a few teething problems. Natural for any business. The problem is they aren't starting small. They are starting as a pretty big business.

If they can't get the contracts right. How can they be organised to book the travel& accommodation for the entire competition and stadiums at each location?

To be fair, I would seriously consider investing Rogers money elsewhere if there was an upcoming young back like Mason Barber etc.
I understand that RTS is world class as a metre eating winger however he is very slow now, he is not catching anyone from behind and he is not an effective winger in try scoring positions unless it is within the 22m of the oppositions try line. I am 50/50 in even having him for this year. He is now only elite in his hit ups, line breaks and defensive ability will now all be hampered by his lack of pace.

I thought he was probably our most threatening back last year and was always going to take him a season or so to adjust from union back to league, and the faster model than when he left. I agree on most points you’ve mentioned and the money wouldn’t be a small salary with the calibre of player he is? We’ve also brought in someone in AKP that you wouldn’t imagine has been brought here to play nsw cup? Mellars looks like he could be a good pickup? Hard to know what the plan is, but once the get training and and positions they’re training in get leaked, it might become a bit clearer?

“On balance, six weeks ago … I would have said [R360] was the best option for him based on what we knew,” Sharrock said.

R360 falling apart? Doesn’t look like they will be ready next year.

Yup I saw the September quote, seems like they couldn't even get stuff done on time, so OCT start might be a problem now, and Roger's agent now telling clients not to sign and open for extension lol, probably another late 2027 start if it ever goes off the ground?

I'd keep Roger until we have non-injury prone wingers and a gun fullback. Will be interesting to see what happens to all the players released recently lol
