That interview he did with NZH suggests to me that NAS's head space is not right atm. If your head is not in the game then there's very little that good coaching from Webby can achieve. So I'd be very weary in trying to bring him over here if all he ends up doing is upending the positive environment we've started to build within the playing group. We all saw what happened last year with AFB. We don't want a repeat of that in 26 where we follow up a good year with a bad one.

I'd rather we invest in our young pack that back them to grow into the fearsome outfit that we all know they can be. Spend the coin on an ambitious backs signing. Throw the kitchen sink at KP or Kini.
Interesting the teams that are interested in him. Eels with Ryles at the helm who knows the guy well from his time at storm and Warriors with Stacey Jones as an assistant who’s just had him in Kiwis camp. It was rumoured on here that AKP is a clown so there’s risk with any recruit, just have to trust the club do their due diligence and gauge how the player will fit. Surely they would fall back on players like Tuaupiki, Boyd and Clark to find out their thoughts on AKP and Kiwis teammates would be asked similarly about NAS?

I think a fair few things would have to align for us to get the best out of NAS.

A few red flags for me:
  1. Easy fallback options of boxing and union mean the motivation to perform at his peak may not be there.
  2. The game has changed since his heyday and he'd need to be at the top of his conditioning to keep up imo.
  3. He will already be cashed up from the Storm payout and the upcoming 360/boxing meaning another motivator gone.
  4. His judiciary record remains a consistent problem and his injuries are becoming more of a factor
  5. I'm sure he has stated that the Warriors were at the bottom of the list of the clubs he'd play for a few years ago (but I might have made that up).

NAS has played 97 First grade games at prop and 13 at lock.
If we got him he would be valuable lock cover in case of injury. We were thin at lock all of 2025.
In games Barnett or Fish do not play next year NAS could start instead of forcing us to start Ford.

Yeah lock is an interesting position hey....some teams use a 13 as a ball player while some use it as an extra middle.
Clark was fantastic this year, but imo hes more (or the way he was used) was more of an extra prop, and with him getting older I assume in the nek few years he transitions to prop.
Vaimauga imo was more of that link man 13, had a few offloads and played that up tempo link man. We also have Gannon coming over who in theory is probably the most 13 13 we have.

Anyways, I'm super interested to see how it all pans out

Moimoi was pushed by NZW media a couple off seasons ago, then basically has been off the park since. Shows the Warriors thought pretty highly of him at some stage. Would assume he's been overtaken by other talent, good luck too him!

Cleary has a high IQ and can do it all. This pre season could do wonders for him if he can stay fit. Could even force the club in releasing Boyd early.

Patrick Moimoi was always a centre but now they are talking about him more as a backrower. So then he is behind the likes of Kayliss Fatialofa and all the rest.

He's a first grader for sure. His path had just been delayed from injury

Panthers got a good one.

Would've liked for him to work his way back from a Train and Trial this year (i.e. take MGT's role on the roster and the Cup side).
