5 years ago NAS I would pay overs to get here.
Today's NAS not so much.
He's still a big scary man and he would add some bash to the forward pack but he is such a liability. He'd be better than Kane Evans and Matt Lodge when they were here but not worth spending a lot on and definitely not worth having a place over some of our younger players coming through.

I think Haas showed yesterday what a well disciplined big man is worth and I don't know that NAS would have been as good as him. Or most of the big guys playing yesterday

NAS, JFH, Barnett, Clarke, Halsima, Capewah/Laban. Let's fucking go bro! We've already got a beast pack but this would make us a monster pack to be feared.

If Storm are paying 2026, then we pay $850k in the second year, which gives us two years for $850k? $425k per season. Or am I mathing wrong?

That's a good deal in any man's language.

But what if he was signed to play in the halves?

Storm aren't paying anything, the contract they had with nas is finished.

That interview he did with NZH suggests to me that NAS's head space is not right atm. If your head is not in the game then there's very little that good coaching from Webby can achieve. So I'd be very weary in trying to bring him over here if all he ends up doing is upending the positive environment we've started to build within the playing group. We all saw what happened last year with AFB. We don't want a repeat of that in 26 where we follow up a good year with a bad one.

I'd rather we invest in our young pack that back them to grow into the fearsome outfit that we all know they can be. Spend the coin on an ambitious backs signing. Throw the kitchen sink at KP or Kini.

You say from that interview your thoughts are that NAS's head isn't in the right space.
You also say a good coach like Webby wouldn't be able to do anything with that.

If we do sign him, then I'm assuming NAS has had talks with several of our our recruitment team, including Webby, who has also probably had input from Stacey, JFH and the boys in the Kiwis camp.

I don't think there's any way that yours, mine, or any one else's assessment of the situation from a news piece is going to be better than all those people mentioned above.

So, I think we can all rest easy that if NAS does come over here he's convinced Webby and Co that he's bought into our way of doing things. Same goes with AKP, Gannon, and all other players we've picked up for nek year.

Hope that doesn't sound too rude, not having a go at you or anyone else doubting NAS, I just think the reality is that there's plenty of mahi that gets done prior to us signing someone. Webby's already declines NAS not long ago, so we're clearly not just jumping at any big bopper that moves
