I think Tannah has good goal kicking and organizes the team well but lacks the x factor most want. Luke is almost the opposite of that.

The problem they aren't sustainable results wise if Tannah doesn't have a good support crew with xfactor it doesn't end well. Conversely relying on Lukes xfactor isn't going to be enough to cover for his lack of organisation and goal kicking - some might point at our results earlier this season but I think we are unlikely to get that lucky again and the last few games with Luke at 7 are more likely performances.
His goal kicking and general play were average. Metcalf was handling the organising fine. I don’t get the faith in Boyd — the Titans didn’t want him, and he’s no better than the 7 they let go to the Dogs.

Boyd is only 24, I don't think Metcalf at 24 was anywhere near as good as he was this year. It's incredibly short sighted to say that Tanah couldn't continue to develop into one of the best controlling halves in the game.

BTW I love Metcalf and would take him over Tanah any day of the week.

Played double the games as Luke has in 1st grade… he’s not a starter at any club, unless you’re happy running 9th-17th. Name one game he played and took the reins in 1st grade. Solid backup that is all he will be.

His goal kicking was superior to Metcalf by a long way. His organizing I thought was much better. Hell you had Walker before he left screaming at Luke to get in position.

And it's not about faith in either of them. It was my thoughts on both of them. They both have strengths and glaring weaknesses.

I think you said a low blow and should apologise for saying Tanah/Tanwah doesn't deserve wah to be a part of his name.
He has been a great servant to the Warriors in 2025. All the development the NSW cup players did was accelerated because they were winning and you learn more from a win than a loss. His play at 7 for the NSW cup was strong and he was the leader of the team and I understand captain on several occassions and led them to this club's first Grand Final victory at any level albeir reserve grade. A Championship is a championship and he was a big part of that.
Secondly you keep saying he had 80 games and hasn't developed. They were ALL at the Titans. "Nuff said. He was not getting front foot ball there. There was no consistency in who the coach was or what the tactics were.

He has a high ceiling of what he could be and I think he is better than Flannagan the incumbent for the Dragone and that St George should take him before Perth does.

That dude in the video I posted in the other thread "the niche view" says this year was the firs time we had 4 seasoned halves in the club and that is what we need every year. Even if he is only a back up that is an important role behind the injury prone Metcalf and CHT who also can be injury prone. So far Tanah looks like an iron man and that is a very good quality to have.

Replied to your post but was more aimed at the other poster. His goal kicking in 1st grade was down on the lower pressure that is NSW Cup, player in front of 300 people and 9 dogs.

People are just too harsh on Tannah. Tannah and CHT didn't work because they are too similar imo. They excel when their role in the team is to play the supporting act rather than be the star playmaker themselves. With Mets back, I'd like us to try TB as the 6 and CHT as the utility coming off the bench. He did wonders for Samoa in that role and is just as versatile as TMM. In my view TB's skillset is complementary to that of Mets: combine Met's speed, flair and unpredictable style with TB's control and mad general and goal kicking boot and I think we will be fine. Let Mets run the team and get the ball whenever he wants it and just have TB's sole gameplan be to kick the opposition to death. We can utilize CHT's defensive steel and mongrel through the middle.

Less pressure in NSW Cup — but when he stepped up, his so-called “elite” kicking and accuracy vanished. I want a team chasing a comp, not scraping for the 8.

Wild how some fans sneer at Ponga or other stars joining, yet defend the Boyds and Fords of the world. We’re not the Storm.

Wouldn’t lose sleep if he joined St Merge. Agree to disagree.

NSW Cup or NRL stats? Pompey or TT should been the goal kicker, not Luke. But when it was clutch against the Bronx, he nailed it.

When Boyd had a far easier chance at Newcastle, he choked.

NRL stats. Yup, Metcalf kicked one to win against the Broncos. How many did he miss to have us in that position? He is lucky he got the chance to redeem himself. His goal kicking overall is below average for an NRL kicker. You even say he shouldn't have been the goal kicker?

I understand your preference to have your boy TMM somewhere in the FG halves but Luke is far and away our best halves option. Especially if we are going to win anything

Good on you for sticking to your guns. It is just about having a discussion.
I think you are hanging a lot on him choking against the Knights with his missed goal kick and drop kick. My hope is he does better next time.
