Recruitment Warriors 2026/2027 Recruitment & Retention

He can beef up over the off-season and is developing fine in the NRL side, but if you really want Bunty back..

I can't say I've noticed Demetric play anywhere but the middle, he ain't a second rower, maybe a lock, but definitely a prop in Webster's team.

There are a lot of young players establishing their place in the NRL side and more to come, the old heads are nearly out the door and getting closer to the reserves bench..
Coming through Demetrics always been a second rower and an inside centre during his time in union. In our trial a few years back when we thrashed the tigers Demetric was right second row and looked identical to Leka build size and the way he moved.
Webbys beefed him up to transition to the middle, he hit a purple patch of fine form around the middle of the season and started to drop off a bit towards the end of the season, his engine will be his biggest work on. Maybe he even shed some weight as he nearly doubled in size over one off season(intentionally to play as a prop).

Am I the only one not on the Chevy Stewart bus?

Seems like just an ok player at the moment to me but not someone I'd be ecstatic over if we signed him.

I suppose if he is cheap then maybe, but then why would he come here for similar money that he's on at the Raiders?
To be a starting fullback, he’s not starting over Weekes any time soon.
I wouldn’t take him he can’t ball play, I’d rather stick with Taine or go after Diane Laurie

Chevy Stewart in the period 2026 to 2028 will be better than Tom Turbo would be. He is not going to be a Reece Walsh you are correct but he would be rich man's Iongi.

Iongi’s a far superior fb imo. I’d take him in a heartbeat
As you mentioned Stewart doesn't have many try assists but he can get across the try line with greater abilities than Iongi has.

Iongi NSW Cup 17 tries in 59 games
Stewart NSW Cup 28 tries in 58 games

I will leave it there. I don't want to pump up his tires any more than that. I don't want to give the impression he is Reece Walsh.

I can’t find where I saw it now Wrighty so could well be on the cards. I think he’d be more of a project rather than ready to walk straight into fullback jersey though

Chevy is like a slightly better ball playing Josh Dugan. Not sure he's what we need even though he definitely has talent.

Also, on the prop/second row debate, it's really not uncommon for second rowers to end up as props regardless of where they played juniors. Let's not forget when Auntie Ivan converted Lillyman and Mutts.

Cute. Doesn't match the eye test though does it, so you've named a couple of preseason games he played 2nd row and yet he always plays through the middle. He's been playing in the middle for the NSW cup team at lock and prop for a while too but since establishing himself in the NRL I haven't noticed him playing where 2nd rowers do. Webster didn't beef him up either, he grew..

Petero Civoniceva was a centre once too, but went to play a couple hundred games at prop..

Of course he would be a project no doubt.
Think back to a guy called Reece Walsh
Arrived here as a project from a junior with the Broncos straight from a small gc club
Goes okay now.
Not sure there's much difference with this guy at this stage in his career.
If anything he is further advanced

What’s your point? He legit doubled in size in one off season 23-24, not in height but width. If he can get his motor up algood

I think that’s one solution if nobody that we think can add value is available but the fact there was no rejection of the speculation we were interested in Davvy Moale suggests we’re interested in adding a front rower

He’s got a high ceiling imo but nothing special at the moment. Taine is better player but potentially a play for the future, he’d be 21-22? CNK signed til 27 but every chance he’s moved on too

Hi - would you be able to keep am eye out for any news on this developing rumour Noitall?
Regarding him walking straight into the team, that is the only card we can play to get him to leave the Raiders regardless of whether it is his time or not. He has had three years of NSW cup,
