Really? Not done anything wrong?
When Metcalf was put back into first grade immediately after became available again after injury, he didn’t perform very well, did he. Granted he was probably put back in without enough preparation with the rest of the team. But whatever, he didn’t perform very well and more or less everyone here was saying., hey Webby, you’ve messed up, that halves pairing that was playing so well together and winning matches for us, leave it as it was.
Just a question about those losses involving Metcalf. Do you think he was the primary driver for the losses? As in the most responsible person?

100% was underdone that was obvious. I hope like he'll they aren't making calls based on those 2 games
Yeah totally, was watching a bloke in a bar poddy with Luke Keary guesting and he commented that his ACL took 18 months to get 100% right physically and mentally..

CHT literally finds the biggest opposition players and cannonballs himself into them. If that doesnt scream loyalty to the boys, I don't know what does.

All luck to him, but I'm not sure Metcalf has the durability to pull that off.
When I first saw Metty play for us it thought he was a gutless defender.

Then we played Manly and Olaka'uatu ran straight over Metcalf who even though he had zero chance of stopping him, committed himself to be a speed bump and slowed him down enough to allow the cover defence to there. I do not question his commitment anymore and never will again after that massive team play. But more to your point yeah he probably doesn't have Chitty's durability.

I probably need to rewatch the games, but I think he didn’t help with the left edge defence. He was also crabbing across field on attack. So not the sole reason but definitely a factor IMO.

I think its fair to talk about Luke'sreturn performances where he looked way underdone and played poorly. But at no time from what I've seen is there any doubt he loves this club and being here. It's a given his management would be asking where his future lies. These discussions happen everywhere when you have a player too good for reserve grade who is not featuring week to week.

Have to laugh at the thought of Metcalf being selected at 7 for the cup side after this fiasco!

Talk about Tannah's leftovers..

Last year with Tanah at the helm of the Cup side we won a 100 in a row and it felt almost inevitable that wed win the final.
Do we think thats would be the case with Metcalf in Cup this year? I think youd see woke absilute mental plays by LM and 1 or 2 clutch moments but Im not so sure wed have that aire of invincibility we had last year.

I know, apples and apples...

The problem is Metcalf wants to be the dominant half when Tannah has been playing that role very well.
He's a victim of his own success and needs to come down a peg and realise what one thing he can contribute to the team already on the field and then work on that.
Inadvertently shows what a great job THC has done the last two seasons..

Agreed. Best way to read these endless posts about Metcalf V Boyd.

Season is still young. This time last year Doggies fans were organising carpools to goto the GF. Then Raiders.

Think its unfair to say Metcalf has performed badly in his first game back, and then his subsequent game when he was injured. People forget he had a good season last year at 7, and previously playing 6.

Why do we have to choose between the two. Long season ahead and ideally we keep Metcalf, Boyd and CHT.

TMM form early in nsw cup last year was pretty unreal too and some were pretty impressed with that combination of him and Tanah Boyd. A grade below but they were a class above. Think he’s a name forgotten at present being on the injury list

LM doesn't belong in cup mate, but he needs to adjust his mind frame cause Boyd and THC are killing it and he should realise that is what's best for the team.
Luke is a brilliant support runner and that's one thing the team has lacked this season, I reckon Webby should play Luke off the bench for 20 minutes a game at fullback. He needs to add to the team and has a lot to offer..

Where do you create that spot with only 4 subs though? No Healey? Expect our Second Rowers to play 80 every week? It'd be awesome to see but we'd burn out other players for the luxury
