Everytime I visit this site (about 10 times a day) I realise just how many dreamers are amongst us.

Someone asking if CHT's brother is still at the Broncos if Barnett goes there takes the cake for the most ridiculous thing I've heard hear in a while, and there's been a lot lately!
Brings back memories when some on this forum wanted Kodi's Brother! 😂

So my totally speculative interpretation is that Barney will play the whole year and then he leaves with our blessing.
Surely he stays to have what might be in his mind his last realistic chance at a premiership.
And maybe just because he wants to.

There is a lot of talk that we will release him this year if we get a like for like quality player in return. Not necessarily a prop.
Maybe that is just a whole lot of nothing.

I have a speculative opinion that he'll go soon.

I take credit for this.

Wasn’t suggesting a swap, was just asking, but glad I made the most ridiculous comment in this thread

I really hope we do not get Lomax.

I’m expecting that he’ll need to go early this year., it’s just too much on his mind to be able to give full attention to the Wahs.

At best, we may get a transfer fee, which can be sunk into development.

If we do get a swap, I’d expect it to be an outside back

I can see Eels trying to offload Matterson + Lomax for Barnett + Niukore.

But all players would need to agree to it. And i doubt Lomax would be keen on Auckland.
Lomax has limited options so we might get him under duress but the more his bridges burn the more leverage Parra appear to have. We could look attractive as a better than "back on the terls"

he's not coming here. It's as unlikely as KP coming here. He's more likely to sit it out until he finds an appropriate Aussie club than to join up with us. And even if he did, he would use as a transit lounge like Lodge did all those years ago. That's not good for team culture to have someone in the joint that doesn't want to be there long term.

The opportunities I think will present themselves for a kiwi outside back looking to come back home. We just have to keep our powder dry till that opportunity presents itself. That means no forward signings.
Lomax and Lodge are just such wildly different human beings. One is a deadset criminal.

Dolphins are doing the same thing with the Cobbo signing who's probably not committed to them long term. If we get a year out of a top 3 winger in the NRL that's a pretty huge win. Long term commitment aside.

Points will come from Chitty and Tanah having runners running lines that force defenders to choose lower odds tackle options.
That’s a good point. Defenders slide off our block plays far too easily…by the time it reaches our winger, too many times our wingers got 1-3 defenders there waiting for him and on the flip side the opposed winger waltzes in too many times. Either our front runner is not running with intent or our halves are releasing far too early. Could be both
