At his very best (which was 2023) we had basically 3 players in 1. Or one player who could cover 3 different skillsets to a high level, all within a game. From a backrower who could ball play before and at the line and link with our halves, to then play primarily as yardage middle, to then being a tacklebot locking down the middle.

I would say that's what we'll miss....but we already have.....last season, where it was clear injury caught up with him.

Be interesting where people rank him in Warrior legacy. We've had some great locks......Campion, Mannering etc....but not the same all round talent as Tohu.

He's always been a favourite. I've loved when he'd put someone through a hole in the middle of the field. He was doing that when the ball player in the middle wasn't in fashion for a 13.
Some of the players he'd put through the gap looked surprised as they weren't used to being in the clear.

Also a player who'd get through a ton of work.

I was excited when we signed him. We got him after the November 1 deadline so it was a long wait. We went on a bit of a recruitment drive that year and Harris' signing was a bit forgotten. All of the others moved on quickly. He ended up with quite a long career in Warriors colours. The covid years would have been rough.

This year was always going to be tough. It looked like time was catching up with him last year. At least now he can rest up and limit any extra injuries occurring that would impact his quality of life moving forward.

Devasted for Tohu to read that the pain is too much to play through, fingers crossed future treatment can manage the pain.

What a legend and a huge loss for us, probably more so in the leadership sense as I have to sadly agree that it looked like the mind had overtaken the body. A very big thank you from a proud supporter to an absolute Warriors legend. Kia Kaha.

A damn shame his time was cut short with so many injuries.

One of the all time great Warriors imo.

Far out how the f**k do you replace this guy....enough can't be said about the kind of player that he was.

You'll be sorely missed! I hope the club find a role for Tohu, show some of those young fullas how to be a professional

Someone mentioned earlier about when Kearney picked Tohu for the Kiwis then dumped him shortly after when SBW made himself available.
Amazing that Tohu came to the Warriors after that with Kearney being the coach.

3 Kiwi players who played for Warriors who all stood up and at times played head and shoulders above the other players in the team.
These three were guys who put in every week.

But yeah in all seriousness- At his peak he was an unstoppable force. An Integral part of our revival in 2023. I wish him nothing but the best and good health going forward (+ haircut).
