I'm not against any of those blokes.

*Edit. But 29 is prime prop years isn't it?

Yeah we hopefully should get about 20-30% more out of him we might get an extra 20 meters a game out of him lol.

Nah to be fair, Bunty is okay and I'm happy to have him as a reserve. Good D and limited meters. We've kept him this whole time as a youngster, I think if he's happy to play another 2 or 3 years as a back up and rack up another 20-30 games with minimal cap issues I'd be happy. Imo that's likely his ceiling.

I don't know why it triggers me so much but I get wound up every year around that time where Bunty's name comes up haha.

"Maybe we move our best players to accommodate Bunty into the team?"
"He's a running prop"
"Bunty from the back fence"

Now we're asking if maybe he has a secret ball playing game that no one knew about....

I do think the idea of him ball playing is a bit far fetched. I would go more bench defender, defence has always been his strength ( every season hes around mid 90s% efficiency) would be the only thought when picking him, if he can sure up defence in the middle.

Cheap labour. He's ok just not amazing

Slade Griffin was on sport nation this afternoon. According to him, next man up is Bunty, after Dylan Walkers departure.

Is Bunty able to pass or does he choose not to? Imagine if he could ball play.
Imagine if it turns out he was a ball playing lock all along and he suddenly turns into DCE, it would be so Warriors.
Bunty sounds like a strange option at first. And I'm sure everyone is thinking WTF?
But, if you can remember the preseason trails and especially from last seasons trail, Bunty played a huge part in those games. A lot of our attack was going through him and he did a lot of ball playing. It looked like he was going to be a big part of the team and the way we were planning to play. But he hardly got any games during the season and when he did, he played a very different role.

So I think. Yes, he is capable! But we have never seen it at NRL level......

Tbh i doubt Bunty is used as a straight 13 when he’s on but he’s a similar style to Clarke, tough carries and effective tackler, prevents momentum loss when Clarke comes off.. simply put, we don’t have that ball playing option in the squad now walker is gone, so shuffle the decks

Ale was a decent looking 13 until we tried to mould him into a prop which hasn't worked out.

He doesn't seem to be in the frame at all anymore which is unfortunate. But the coaches see these guys day in and day out so have a far better idea.

He and CHT are and have been for a long time two of my favourites, bit gutted Ale hasn't kicked on tbh.
I reckon he'll play injury cover so has a chance to impress. I never knew him coming through but remember he had a little bit of hype surrounding his possible ceiling. Now he seems to have been surpassed by Leka and co. So his value may be like Bunty...... On standby.

And they'd be great in that role.

I think we've played much tougher opposition - that's my main hope for tomorrow, we're much more resilient for having gone against the raiders, manly and the chooks vs the knights, eels and dolphins
I really liked one point Webby made in the press conference after the Roosters game too. He mentioned how instead of getting frustrated that we're not scoring when we get in the red zone and doing dumb stuff we just go back into the system, keep building pressure and points will come eventually. Seemed like this happened a bit last year where we would drop off after not scoring points and then let off the pressure with a dumb penalty or offside at the beginning of opposition sets whereas this year we seem a lot better disciplined at not letting teams up the field easy.
