Your post turned blue (cool feature Moderators) lemme bask in your glow and say that Clark vs Manly and the Roosters was the most effective forward from the kick off.
No mean feet given we were getting beaten up front in both games quite comfortably by our opposition during the all important opening exchanges.

In terms of the eye gauge....Clark has been better than Fish and Barney imo, especially his hard hitting when added to his hard running. I say that having zero back ground on this guy, I have no bias or buy in coz frankly I never heard of him before, even though he is ex Warriors.

True story he is the best forward of 2025 thus far and probably not getting the mentions he deserves because he doesn't have a fancy pedigree.
He built to that performance level over last few years
He was great at the Titans last year
There was a few doubters when he signed
Bet there isn’t now

It was mentioned in game 2 thread that Clarke was setting that tone and he continues to do so. Our Clarke 2.0 has grown up and applies himself well here. And it's telling because though he's not captain he is leader.

Here’s the thing, I pretty much agree with everything you just wrote. However……

I’m pretty confident we’re going to beat the Tigers…… and Erin is going to be a big bart of that.

Then……. We’re probably going to be exposed by Melbourne and Brisbane. You know it.

Then…… We’ll go back to playing teams like the Knights and Cowboys. The small pack “line speed” will start working again.
And all the same supporters will say
“See, see. It does work”……. Does it?

Then…… we’ll come up against the Sharks, Penrith or even Canberra. And its limits will be exposed yet again.
Tell you what, the Titans game is going to be real interesting imo.

It’s the same with the “bald brothers” in 2023. It was excellent…….
Until it came up against Penrith, Brisbane and Melbourne.

I’m not hating on Erin, as a matter of fact. Erin has actually become even more important.
Erin to 14……..

Mate if the 13 players on the grass played with the energy of the bald bros, or the energy and impact of Clark we would be the Panthers and Storm.

I don't disagree with the measured call you made, but I have been very much in the camp of seeing this season for what I believe it is, a rebuild year, a year where results shouldn't matter, rather we should be focused on building and developing a New Warriors team that is harder, faster , smarter, and stronger than before - purely as a Net effect of Websters coaching of a decent player development pool where names like Ali, Leka, and Dimitric are coming on.

Agree. Why after the teams named and why not after this game where we have a bye and a break.

Obviously he’s signed so it’s been in the pipeline for a while but why now specifically?

I hear what your saying, but the reality is that were probably not going to compete with the big boys in all facets of every game.

Imo, the top teams are looking way more human at the moment. Penny, Broncos, Manly and Sharks have all lost a game and at times have looked pretty poor. Storm have a few injuries at the minute too and look there for the taking on paper, while Roosters are also rebuilding.

We can't look too far ahead, as our job imo is to beat the majority of those lesser teams so that were sitting 5-8 at seasons end. From there, anything can happen. Injuries, suspensions and even a bit of pressure placed on one of those top teams could result in a huge boil over.

One game at a time, let's spill some Tigers blood this week and in a few weeks we'll see how well we fare against the Storm

Tell you what you’re probably right about the attitude thing. It is what it is.

And that’s the thing with this year…….
Is it a rebuild year? (In the clubs opinion)

I want it to be, I want a burn it down and build an empire year. (Even 2)

But is that what the clubs doing?
I mean, that’s what will be “sold” to us if we fail to make the 8 or see significant improvement. But was it actually?

Hope so, I guess we’ll wait and see.
It’s been 30 years lol. And they’re at least 3 years away from actually challenging year in year out.

Journalists working for them wouldn't necessarily have that info, I don't know if they would have had a heads up from the coaching staff either, as that's only a requirement 24hrs before game time - my guess is as good as their guess in this case is my reckon
Hmm.....we will have to agree to have completely different understandings..... I have never ever known a disclosure in late mail on NRL.com to prove to be wrong.
I am so confident in this that if Laban proves not to be in the 17 come Sunday I will change my Avatar for a month to Benji Marshall.

getting Demetric to pass in a walker type role as well as bash and barge off the bench would be best for us long term. Leka is too fast to be left to toil in the middle I feel.

Bunty to bench, takes Demetric prop role, Demetric to walkers role, Halasima and ford keep the same role. if Egan goes down in game, clark just has to dust of the old dummy half skills - he wasn't worse than Jazz at it.

Can't fit Laban in the team as currently constructed, one of old backrowers will break down that's what old players do - he'll get his chance then.

Someone mentioned Going he is actually the closest to what walker does but wouldn't make much sense to put minutes into him at the expense of the younger guys.

I think the last couple of weeks with this attrition game has shown us that holding a back or a hooker on the bench just as injury cover is a waste (other teams do that though)

Shauny being nice to his boy

Walker in 2025 has avg 85m, 21 tackles, 0.6 tackle breaks, 25pcm, 0 tries, 0 try assists.
85metres is ok the rest doesn't surprise me. His heart has not been in this year. My emotional intelligence tells me he has been missing someone recently or missing whanau recently and his mind has not been on the job (compared to his normal high standards). Still at least I don't recall any errors penalties or sin bins so it could have been worse.

How does that compare to his best year in 2023 or the following year in 2024?
