It looks like the Assad regime is about to go under. Rebels have apparently take Aleppo and there are rumours Assad’s security general is now leading a coup and trying to catch Assad.

It looks like the rebels are taking the city of Hama as well which means Damascus will be cut off from the sea where Assad would probably hope to escape to the Russian naval base at Tartus

I see today that labour has ruled out joining aukus if they return to government and watching footage of Luxon at cop, it looked like he had a lot of time for xi. Already our biggest trading partner, I get the feeling we’re only going to explore closer ties? Further blurred lines if this eventuates and our Australian neighbours are in aukus and diplomacy is low between US and China
