Yeah i wondered that too.

Tbf tho as much as i love Fish your hardly going to get illuminating behind the scenes insight from him......man of few words.

Thats alright tho....biceps that size he's allowed to be.
I genuinely reckon Naufahu Whyte slipping over after the kick off had an eye on JFH bracing for the collision. It’s always been said that he and Leo Thompson came back different players after Kiwis camp with JFH

If you didn’t know the score line you’d think we lost
Webster is trying to keep expectations in check eh. Round one NRL champions is a killer curse, especially since we have Canberra next, and Webster has made a career of sneaking up on the competition when no one was looking. Fits with the way he approached the trials with a don't give a shit about winning mindset....he used them as a warm up only....then BOOM Roosters see a different Warriors.

Must be optional?
As a fan I love that win or lose Webby always gives really insightful after match words.....really gets into the nitty gritty of what we want to know.

I think the petulant one word dinosaurs Ricky Stuart and Bennett really need to think about how this game is changing and fan engagement on a wider scale

We’ve still got our 2 best players to comeback, Rocco to shore up that right edge defensively if Ali doesn’t take his opportunity, and our 2 best young forwards were hardly a factor last night and we still destroyed them. Exciting stuff.

If Boyd keeps playing like he did last night, someone else mentioned it already but Metcalf should return at fullback. That would be best for the team I think, his speed, support play, and Ball playing would make us a prem threat I reckon.

There have been times after after a loss where I’ve been genuinely concerned at the display but have listened to Webster in these and looked at what he’s saying and always see what he’s talking about. He seems a genuine footy brain and a great man manager. All those that get concerned of him leaving to go home, he’s been here before and I think this is the club and owner where he sees genuine success. Word of the day genuine from me

The boys looked like they had freedom of expression as in how everybody's said Webby's taken off the training wheels or shackles or embraced their team identity.
Definitely looked more free in terms of ball promotion but i'd temper that with we were given the oppertunity time n again by the chooks to play footy in that attacking 3rd.

30 -9 in terms of errors and infringements meaning turnovers is just mammoth. Their discipline wasnt just poor, it was sooo poor.

probably why im not getting too carried away as we wont get that with the Raiders next week (or most teams for that matter) so ill be interested to see how the attack goes given less oppertunity and when the game is a bit more grindy.

Webby had me sold the moment he refused to blame refs.

Taking responsibilty for the things we can control was the best thing to happen to this team.

the most satisfying thing about the win is coming back and watching the fox coverage and seeing how genuinely gobsmacked those Aussie "experts" were. They genuinely could not fathom how we could even win, let alone put 40 pts on the Chooks. Nothing is more satisfying than watching the chief hater Brandy himself admit he got it wrong big time and that we might not be nearly as mud as he thought we were. Ennis is annoying but at least he gives us chops when we deserve it.

I know Aussies think our fanbase is annoying but the entitlement of the chooks fanbase is just really breathtaking. Any honest chooks fan would admit that we won this not because of the man with the whistle but because we simply outplayed them in every way. We absolutely dominated them through the middle which is why they were forced to cheat so much in the ruck and cop all those penalties. Most Aussie fans hold our team in low regard, but nowhere near as much as the chooks fan who genuinely seem to think they have some divine right to the premiership this year.

Bring on Canberra. This victory means nothing if it isn't backed up. Let's prove to the Aussies that this was no fluke and that we mean business this year by beating a premiership contender and last year's minor premiers in the first 2 weeks of the season.

Ya i saw that eh they had s decent segment on our game and Ennis was literally stuttering 😂 WTF just happened without Dally M leader and Barney

As a fan I’m often enraged at decisions, but you’re right that this is the way. I think you gain the respect of the nrl and the players on the field don’t dwell and take the adversity head on

A+ from the referee too I thought in that game. Yes we got the bounce of the ball and 50/50 calls etc but there weren’t any howlers. And I loved the way he dealt with Tedescos bratty whining. Like any good parent should - tell them they’re wrong and then turn your back on them and leave them to cry in time out.

Dear NRL, Can we please get Wyatt for all our home games? 😂

Probably pissed at the chooks because the brown paper bag he got was less than expected 💰

When is the forbidden fruit supposed to return from injury?

Ali still showing the same/similar issues that saw him banished last year after the Raiders loss at home.

Those are park footy jersey grabs, absolutely no place for that in first grade.

Just about every other player has learnt to live and die on every play under Webby. But the cogs just dont appear to be turning for Ali in that respect.

Might be one that has to set sail over to Aus as a career wake up call. That could very well be one that comes back to bite us, but what do you do hes been under Webby for three years now.
