Rocco is probably lacking game time. He provides work rate on the right, which Capewell provides on the left. He provides a better balance to the team Ali with his X factor Rocco with his work rate. It will be nice to see Rocco partnered with Leka on the right which can make up for Rocco’s lack of attack
He needs to cut that union grass cutter bullshit out and start using his size in the tackle

I think we really need to work on our edge defence, especially teams coming out of their own half. All season its been torched just fortunate that the teams made errors off them. It's was my biggest concern coming into this game as the Storm are unlikely to make those same basic errors and what would you know. Absolutely terrorised the edges in the first half.
I can't understand the placement of the much smaller Taina against the 2 metre plus tall Coates. Why wasn't Roco given that role? At least, Coates would not have had such a height advantage. I think we should put our players in positions where they are most effective against the opposition.

Got to give credit to Bellamy taking advantage of the miss match something the Roosters didn’t do with there tall wingers
The commentary I listened to said before the game that whoever plays into the sun in the first half is under such pressure which is why Taine had no vision and had to use one hand to block the sun and have a crack. He was against it even if it was Kosi challenging.

One more thing

It's Tuesday and this was still a hiding 😭 😞 😭

> 56% rated the game an F-????

And they say we have some of the best fans 😂 💩

All youse quoting Shakespeare and Winston Churchill before the game… then F-? 😳
agree, however my f mainly for not locking up the ball in the tackle, believe tackle or d is most important aspect of any game of rugby league, no d, no win, f not for effort, f mostly for the basic fundamentals of bad tackle technique, so did they give up, no, they deserve A for effort, and my f overall may have been not too logical in the giving, if I think about I may have been very emotional in my assessment, so may be a C now.

Nah, stick to your guns mate. You cant get blown away 36-0 in the first half and expect a half decent grade regardless of what happens in the second half. An F is a fair assessment IMO and a C is being generous. But ultimately people can grade the game as they wish. I don't think what people grade the game as should be called out, everyone has their own opinions, criteria, views, grade harder or easier than others etc or you end up with what we had in previous seasons with overzealous posters getting upset because the team didn't always get an A.

The fact around 93% gave it the two lowest marks kinda gives you a pretty good indication of how the team performed.

Dont think others opinions or ratings makes any difference. We were pumped by a very good NRL team who at this stage of the year are red hot favs.
Our lack of line speed in defence was lacking & gave their play makers (& they have a few)far too much time & space.
Simple game. Cut their time/space down disrupts the attack. We didnt do it well enough.

would it work though, changing his target of legs up higher to say the chest or ball (goal to lock it up the ball), I've found it was quite easy after the the initial contact, this led quickly to the tackle sliding up or skidding off the ball and up onto the jaw or head inevitably leading to a penalty. if he can channel that low tackling energy to a higher target (chest/ball) it may work? practice makes perfect dunno which is better change his technique to wrap and trap?

Practice does work
Egan has changed his style and (touch wood) so far better out comes

Egan not dieing once or reeling out of every second tackle half concussed is maybe the biggest surprise of our season.

Would love to see him go the full season without an HIA. We honestly need it, he's pretty much the most Integral part of our team with the ball in 2025.

Tackling has different methods and purposes so techniques need to vary.

A bloke running straight at you

A bloke running away from you

A bloke you have 0.01 of a second to decide to tackle.

Your outside shoulder or your inside shoulder.

Sliding defence or jamming.

Ball and all. Just the ball.

It's up there with brain surgery and auto electrical knowledge in complexity.

Rocco would benefit from diversifying his repertoire.
