We looked like a premiership team in the first 25 minutes. Then we took Wayde Egan off.

Apart from that i'm really not sure what happened tonight after seeing how we started. Couple of kicks on the 4th with no one aware by SJ.

As good as Tauapiki is, we missed CNKs cohesion in the back line especially in goal line attack.

shows how much we depend on Charnze's and missed Niukore hard runs..

I lost count of the amount of poor passes from SJ and Metcalf ..

we really just turned off after 25min mark then it seemed like we were lost out there esp without egan

Think we got a bit too far ahead of ourselves and I’m a bit disappointed I bought into the hype- I’ve been around long enough to know better.
All is not lost but shit we were a completely different team after 30mins, despite our depth we can’t absorb Egan and AFB being off the field.
Some of the calls late first/early 2nd half really bought the Sharks back into it but we turned to shit by the time things swung back our way. I’d hoped we would storm home in that last 20 but that died when Egan went off

did not understand the 30 minutes Egan was off the field - getting to the 20 min mark in the 2nd I'd concluded he must've been injured as there seemed no reason for him not to come back in - and, yeah, then he did ... pretty much losing the game right there with that injury - someone explain that interchange to me though, please

My first question to Webster, Ale was unused and Bunty only 15 minutes, was this due to Lussicks interchange to Egan off?
For me Webster killed us in the playoffs last year...didn't use our bench to the max...how does ale not play? His bench rotation is shit...I think his culture is magnificent but I question some of his decisions

Clunky AF.
Lots of good moments from individuals but no cohesion. That period where we just ran through the middle third in the first half with quick play the balls was promising. Always telling though when SJ is working his right hand plays trying to create deception and attract tacklers and his runners look like it’s the first time they’ve ever seen him show and go. Not a disaster but a C from me!

Yeah agree. CNK's positional play is spot on. He chimes into the backline so well. Surprises the defence with his speed too. Our attack lacked that polish.

Sharks great defence. No where near title contenders though.

Missing CNK, Niukore & Egan is a concern with fragility.

SJ was a bit off.

Ford must go.

We’ll improve.

I’d be tempted to put RTS at FB and bring Pompey/Ali in until CNK is back.

Deflating though but that first 20 was a glimpse of what we’re capable of without the above…...keep that in mind.

We smashed them in the first 20 minutes with play the ball speed. Steam rolled them with speed.

Then they laid all over the ball and slowed us down so they had time to organise themselves in defence…

Egan helped us get the roll on but the Sharks stopped it.
