Can they send him to the US to get the hammy fixed and get it done within a month while we have all these byes? Other than Turbo others including Luke has been doing well with their hammies

Might be a fitness thing as well as using the wrong areas under fatigue, and back issues

Has Berry had hamstring concerns before this year? I remember the shoulder nerve injury, broken hand, at least one concussion and maybe turf toe at some stage.
If no prior hammy issues, then it's probably too early to think about investing shit loads of money and sending him to the USA as he's only missed a total of 4 games because of it

I know he missed a chunk of one year for lower back issues, so may be somewhat related. Definitely not in the realm of Turbo yet though with repeated hammy issues

He’s pulled it 3 times since he returned via cup hopefully they need to sort out the root cause asap

I could be wrong, but Berry has had multiple different injury issues, compared to Ben Henry, his knees basically gave up. If Rocco had multiple knee reconstructions, then different issue. He's injury prone, and needs to sort it out before his next contract comes up. Because currently, he simply couldn't be offered a decent contract.
Will be interesting to see if he's re-signed prior to 'Nov 1st, especially if he doesn't play again this season. If he's after an upgrade he's in a weak bargaining position. Tough spot for the club after all the time invested into him, and is obviously well liked, but for the most part they're paying him to rehab injuries

The only one that should be extend pre Nov 1 is CHT!

While technically correct, missed games are missed games and Berry misses more than anyone.

I’m starting to think he’s just extremely reckless with his body on the field. He’s a tall frame that I’m not sure is fully used to carrying the size he’s put on in the last few years. I don’t think his body is made for heavy collisions/stress. Just seems to constantly pick up different types of injuries from it.

I think if he wasn’t a rugby league player he would be a very skinny 80kg

You reckon we pull the pin on him? If not now, how long do we give him to try and fix? I'm a big Berry kinda guy, but you'd have to think he'd need to get through a whole year for us to resign him after 2026

Yeah no decision needs to be made now. I wouldn’t be in any rush to re-sign him come 1 November. We could re-sign him end of next year on the cheap (even the minimum possibly). An injury ravaged Berry as a fourth string center is still better than Morgan Harper.

Just see how next year plays out, we have some gun centers in our Flegg team (probably deepest position in that team in terms of talent) so a lot will depend on how they progress come end of next year, the likes of Kali, Vake, Putoko, Norris, Moimoi.

I don’t think we need to be looking externally for a Berry replacement. Pompey/Ali is a good pairing when Berry isn’t fit.
