I hope Niukore's form last year was down to the injury. A return to similar form as 2023 would give Metcalf someone to dump the ball off to if the play isn't quite on or big body to attract defenders down the right. I thought he was a bit better in the second trial compared to the first.

It will be interesting to see where Halasima plays when he comes on. He has been discussed as a middle a lot and looked good in the trial. I can see the combination of a few others giving us leg speed in the middle. But I can also see having him replace Niukore and providing a difference out wider.

The speculation on the first page about Pompey is interesting. Not the injury more the plan to bring in TMM to 6 and place CHT at centre.

Ieremia-Toeava is in the squad. He didn't look to bad in the trial.

Surely a player better suited to centre.

Another player (Ieremia-Toeava) good to see in the squad. If we are wanting to be a development club we need to A, produce the guys and B, give them an opportunity.

Happy with the team. TMM unlucky but he just is not a 6. I am also very glad the field is not as wide as standard as there is some speed in the Raiders backline.

Have to question what Ale's done wrong though....poor bloke looked great in 2023, but the back end of that season he started to see reduced minutes, and in 2024 again hardly played any minutes, only one game over 30m last year and now not picked again...

Feels like the writing is on the wall for him

We are rolling pretty deep with young forward depth hey.

Laban, Ale, TSS cant even get on the flight. Toeaiva, Healey, Afoa(not young but still good depth) cant get in the 17. Vaimuga and Halasima on the bench. Kind of makes the Zyon Maiu’u release more palatable.

Expect one of those juniors to take Capewell or Niukore's starting spot by the end of the season.

The NSW Cup games I've seen he's mainly been a second rower / centre but I am pretty sure you are right he's been named at prop as well.

A second row / centre option would be useful on the bench.

The games I've been to I was keeping an eye on a few others. They have either moved on playing first grade. The trial he caught my interest. Quite keen to see keep an eye on him.

Can see Capewell losing his spot if he doesnt capture that form after origin 2 last year.

Hopefully the boys enjoy the build up and then take care of business on the weekend.

It will be a great experience. A big match atmosphere and an amazing stadium.

But at the end of the day they have been training hard all summer to perform on the field.

plenty of goal kickers without pompey then, and strike right across the park.

best way to get that many playmakers (if you can call a couple of them that) into the backline.
