Pick Your Team Rabbitohs v Warriors - Round 5, 2024 PICK YOUR TEAM

I reckon CNK will be fit and good to go to return at 1 next week. To me it sounds like we have taken a more cautious approach to his injury and allowed plenty of time for him to get his body right before returning. Webby also mentions that he will be back next week, assuming that will be in first grade.

yeah he literally spent the whole post match interview saying RTS is playing Center and CNK is playing FB...

Can't afford to have CNK/Walker having quiet games settling in. No time for that when we are trying to get one over Souths and climb the ladder after losing two winnable games to start the season. Would prefer them playing cup this week and returning the week after. If we are going with form we can't look past RTS performance this week.
RTS was phenomenal with the ball in hand and making metres, but it was a bit like Manu's ~400 at FB for the Kiwis... incredible individual performance, but not necessarily what the team needed.

Rog will be better for the run at FB, but I'd be shuffling him back to the centres. His lack of ball playing (or just general passing - he had the same run-pass ratio as DWZ for comparison) doesn't fit into the game plan that Webby would prefer to play and his 1:1 defensive efforts aren't as good as where he was at before he went to yawnion. Big call, I know, but I'd have more faith in a returning CNK to stop Latrell after he busts through our line than RTS based on a few of his misses over the past few weeks.

That being said, every game this year has given me more confidence that Roger will be in the Dally M centre talks come the end of the year! Good opportunity for TMM to show off his distribution skills

1. CNK
2. DWZ
3. Berry
4. RTS
5. Montoya
6. TMM
7. SJ**
8. AFB
9. Egan
10. Barnett
11. Ford
12. Capewell
13. Harris

14. CHT
15. Walker
16. Niukore
17. Bunty

That’s our A-team

CNK will probably be rusty on attack especially, but that’s life

SJ should kick on the 4th to make Mitchell run, then grubber behind inside the 10m

Intriguing to see how TMM will do with the left edge with Roger/Monty/Ford, he needs to tske his chance otherwise he’ll be back to Cup in a few weeks/months

I agree with this, Although he wasn’t really in any position to pass the ball against the knights as Johnson didn’t take the back door option once the whole game, he hit front door every time.

If he is at centre we need to use him better than we have so far this year. Just early ball and do your best isn’t going to work because most NRL centres are good 1 on 1 defenders

Yeah, fair point on the lack of sweeping plays - but I think there was a combination of the Knights putting pressure on those plays and Webby adjusting the game plan given that isn't the best tool on Roger's toolbelt.
And definitely agree on the use of Roger - I thought we had surely moved past the "give the ball to Rog" strategy... but maybe Webster is just keeping it on the basic on the left for the first third of the season (he said in the presser after the Storm game that we should wait and see how good he'll be in the centres after 6-8 weeks), which is pretty exciting to think what he's cooking up! What would be effective is the short-long ball that Johnson throws to Berry on the right hand side, if Metcalf/TMM can get Rog and Ford lined up for that, boy oh boy

you’re kidding right?

29 runs for 283m

7 tackle breaks

2 offloads

not what the team needed 🫤?

He’s the only attacking weapons in the backline that can create something for himself

RTS is the gamebreaker we were missing last year. Last week when the Raiders were getting the upper hand, RTS single handedly wrestled momentum back for us when he went back to fullback. Today his batdown of a certain newcastle try at the end also won us this game in my view. That's why I see some merit in him swapping with Charnze. Though I think Charnze has earned priority in this position based on last year.

Based on form and the expected team line ups we should be favourites for this game. However I'm certain we will be rank outsiders for this game given the likely sydney media narrative that souths are back as contenders given last week's win against the struggling dogs.
