NRL Podcasts

I enjoyed it. 30 minutes is long enough to begin with. Benji's was the same length as is the current Johns and Cronk show. If it proves sustainable to extend to an hour then all good.
I've been thinking about it, they need to move the furniture closer together, Shaun's too far from his guests. Tohu's character has a lot of potential with that slightly mocking air you get from being constantly surrounded by idiots. The greatest half hour of our lives line was a mistake. Everyone's a director.

Tohu’s character? That guy looks exactly like Tohu 🤔

I enjoyed it but it certainly felt like a first episode. I'm sure they will polish it up a bit as SJ and his co-hosts get more experience though.

I wonder how much of it is SJ produced and how much is Sky? Because it sorta felt to me like they're trying to compact an hour long format into 30 minutes. If it were tailored specifically to my tastes I'd drop the weekly game review and have:

Intro segment: Show rundown & casual chat
Mid segment: In-depth analysis
Closing segment: Inside-Wahs and opponent preview

The Mad Monday podcast this week (Radio Hauraki / ACC guys) mentioned that it was gonna be more of an entertainment-based show (going with the vibe of the signs in crowd, Spi-wahmen, social media funniness etc) before SJ got involved and basically took the reins. But yeah it did seem pretty short, and SJ did seem a bundle of nervous energy which I'm sure he'll chill out with a bit more as they go along!

Either way hope it doesn't get too Kiwi cringe hah, as we tend to do sometimes with locally produced content 😅

For anyone into true crime, have a listen to Silk Road 3-part podcast on Casefule (cases 74-76).

It had been on my list for a while, and I finally got around to it.

Try to refrain from googling the main players until you've listened to the whole thing. Unbelievable

Changes at TWL.
Does this mean more involvement from you this year @Fonzie?
Hi mate

I love the changes, but personally I’m looking to make a similar contribution. My work and home life commitments get bigger every year so I’m trying to contribute as much as I can. I’m a big believer in TWL and view my role as helping them stay afloat and (hopefully) at the top of the independent media space.

Also, I’m sure the boys would love to have you on any time!

It looks like there are segments on the Warriors in a couple of podcasts uploaded today on YT -- Levels and Bloke
About to listen to Levels.

Can add the James Graham podcast as well for mentioning the Warriors. The episode is a bit weird to be honest. It is supposed to be how excited they are to watch each club.

He kind of ranted about recruitment and it more sounded like a general preview of the season for some teams as he'd talk about how they would go. Although they did rank them in terms of excitment as they rated the Panthers and Storm also down quite far. Still similar to us where it was around a lack of new players or personnel he wasn't excited to watch the Panthers.

I can understand for an outsider looking at our club if the points were.

Not keen to watch = Lack of speed, don't chance their arm from inside their 50.
Excited to watch = Have some exciting young forwards, games are often close.

Graham never rates us and seems to have a genuine chip towards anything NZ. The other guy is pretty much the stereotype of a Sydney centric fan that barely notices anything happening outside of Sydney

Don't understand the appeal of Graham. He doesn't have any original insights and is as articulate as a toddler. Other than having a few cracking yarns here and there with a couple of ex-players (which we get from all the other podcasts too), it's a real slog getting through his episodes. He really doesn't bring anything to the table that other podcasts don't.
