International Pacific Championship

We have done 95% of the hard work.

League is a simple game. Can't convert field position into points and simple defensive errors make it impossible to win.

We will be better and should feel confident of winning the comp again

I think we will run one though Tonga next week

My mum wanted to know who was playing. I said the NZ league team. She said I thought that was the Warriors then she wanted an explanation for the difference between both teams and I said don't worry about it.

Switch over to the Silver Ferns. They have 2 games in the bag so far. Been a good week for nz sports fans. Cricket, Sailing , Hopefully a series win for the ferns. And the Kiwis! ...Oh, Hold on....

Clunky sort of game but i dont think we're too far away tbh.

In no way did the Aussies dominate or we were only just holding on which is normally the feeling i get against Aussie, In fact for large periods there i thought we were in charge. Just 4 or so defensive moments that was the difference really.

Should be better for the run.......Kodi to six would be my only change

Hard not to be impressed imo. 3 of their tries came from 3 instances of poor one on one defence.
Which, I'm okay with as we have what, 12 front line players out?
Some great individual performances on our end. My only real complaint is that I get upset when I look at Phoenix Crossland, I'm sure there's a footballer in there but I just can't see past that floppy hair

Happy with that. I can see us tipping them up in the final provided we beat Tonga. Just a couple of selection changes or positional for me. For those saying that looked very Warriors in the way we played, does that indicate Stacey is responsible for our attacking structures, or has he incorporated it into the Kiwi side? It was it simply that SJ was the dominant half?

I don't think we did really - agree it was just SJ doing a lot. We used our aerial options a lot more today and relied less on sweep plays.

Thinking about it, this short comp set up is going to work out best for us - we play Australia who were already warmed up from the Tonga match, but then they have a one week rest before the final which should make them a tad rusty. Meanwhile we play a slightly rusty Tonga who have just had a week off, and aRe hopefully able to build before the final against Aus

Not bad with our makeshift halves. A FB & Retired half.
Hiku was amazing for someone no fan wanted in the team lol.
Warbrick will be a rock for us for years to come. Him & Mulitalo are a world class wing pairing. Centre was once our strong point. No Joey & suddenly we are average in that position.

Young Casey McClean is promising..

We'll always have good forwards. Even with the ones we've lost, The ones that took over were good for us

Bring on Tonga!
