Clues are really good, got really cocky a few days ago with one clue making me "It's Him". Next clue. "Okay, so it's gotta be Him". Next clue. "Idiot, it's OBVIOUSLY HIM!" Nope.

Same, just googled and he was Joe Merrick apparently. I first heard of him in a book about David Bowie, Dave played Merrick in a Broadway production of Elephant Man around the time of Scary Monsters.
