Forked out nearly 500m in the wet and evenly distributed between the two kickers, they probably will let CHT do most of long kicks next week to fatigue one edge like TMM was saying

that's still about 200m less kicking meters than what we normally got under TB. It's something we need to address in the long term. Maybe we just concede the lower kicking meters and just work on improving set distance with a different middle rotation or introducing CNK back into the team. I'm sure Webby is thinking about it.

Never thought I’d say this because I love Demi, but does Tanner make the 17 ahead of him now? Tanner is a lot stronger through contact, which has surprised me. But Demi brings the Eno, ball playing, offloading and he’s got X factor.

Just got back from the game, conditions weren’t that evident on TV but they were awful at the ground.
Never going to be a high scoring match under those conditions so people needed to lower those 50 expectations.
Happy with that win, wasn’t pretty but we ground it out and apart from maybe the first 15 mins we didn’t ever look like losing

I was at the game as well. Pretty ordinary conditions out there. The boys did well to bank the 2 points.

Hoping to nab tickets for the Panthers game next week. Should be a cracker.

Webby should leave the halves pairing as is. Mets to take a bench spot if Webby reckons he’s up for it.

Some points I noticed.
Conditions meant a classic case in the cinditions of an opposition that drags your performance down to their level. That happened to some extent but limited by sticking to structure and defence. I thought Leka and Laban were patchy especially ball security but were both good in effort areas.

I thought the Dragons forwards showed good resolve but were seriously limited by one running Half that didnt run and the other didnt organise. They will get the spoon but those young forwards provide hope. Metcalf is a good recruit for them.

The problem with CHT & TMM is their lack of variety in their kicking. I have no issues other than that as they are both strong defenders as Halves, a big advantage. If he comes in Metcalf will be at 7. To be honest his ceiling is higher than TMM but he will have earn the spot.

Did you see that guy in the post game celebrations. He was getting fanta and powerade poured on his head and still going strong with the team song. The boys look up to him, he's a future leader.

He kicked well in cup yesterday, at least what I saw. If he plays then he should be the kicker.

CHT had some surprisingly good long kicks. TMM needs consistency in his kicks, some were good, some shit, only 2 games in though for him.
Overall I was happier this week with the kicking.

I don't know what to make of Cleary. I haven't made up my mind.

I can't put my finger on whether he is a six or Seven because he is evolving.

When I first was watching him I thought he is a six, no way that he is a Seven (he was run first - that would come from his old man, Nathan is run first too as far as a seven goes and that would be the coach in Ivan, every great half ever had a running game).

Lately Jett has (slowly) been morphing into some organizational skills. And looks more Sevenish.

I agree he plays better at Seven, but that doesn't always mean it is a player's better position, it can simply be about their personal feelings and give a shit factor (more effort - look at Metcalf).

Jett is a greedy player. And that feels more Stand off to me. But I like where his kicking game is going and I like the improvement in his timing and passing.

Like I say, hard to tell what is really going on, but time will reveal it, if he stays on this arc he will become a Seven, or like his brother somewhat of a hybrid (Nathan is the best ever, he could play both and still be a better stand off than anyone else in the game - that is talent and his old mans hand in building a complete athlete).

I know two things, Jett is not Nathan, Nathan is way better and was a child prodigy. Jett is not ready for the NRL (he is a slower developer - and that is ok, I wouldn't put limits on where that ends up, no one know's how good he could be, look at Tanah).

Pity Jett doesn't have his parents watching every week, he plays better when they do (like any kid). I would love to know what Ivan thought of his game.

There were a couple of shots on TV where the rain became visible and it was hosing down.
