TMM is a natural born half. His instincts and touch with the ball are so great to watch. Need to start calling him the smooth operator.

They don’t have to pick Metcalf this week, or the week after, or the week after that, but if they want to win the competition they will need him to be in the team, confident and playing well.

At some point other forward packs will match ours and though I really enjoy TMM’s work and felt he got screwed over in 2024, he’s got no long kicking game, if it came down to the last 5 minutes in a close game, anyone have any confidence in him or CHT slotting a field goal?

They going to have to bury the hatchet at some point, he may have no loyalty to the club, but then the club had no loyalty to him.

This week would start Laban and give Kayliss a debut of the bench. Ford might go for 300 m against his old team and having been left out of origin.

The long kicking game is going to be an issue.

Not a strong point of CHT and definitely not one of TMM.

Even when TMM was racking up try assists for fun in 2024 and was close to the most in form number 7 in the comp, his long kicking game was the only criticism.

It's actually kinda funny that the two players that get picked for origin aren't even the standout players in our side this year. Good that Ford (important) and Egan (critical) will be available to play for us, even if it is disappointing they were overlooked.

I'm torn on the Metcalf situation. Head says we'd be proud fools not to put him into the starting lineup, particularly as he could be as good as everyone says he could be. Heart says TMM.

But we don't want to have as good a side as this and be licking our wounds in September if people were too proud to put a star halfback in the team and give the premiership a proper tilt

I was poking fun at the fact that you told people to stop writing fiction and then proceeded to state that we'd put 60+ on the dragons, if Metcalf (who hasn't trained in the last two weeks) was put into the side.

In the discussion around TMM vs. Metcalf, Metcalf is the unknown variable (in this years side).

We know that TMM can slot in for Tanah. We don't know what happens when Metcalf does and given their variation in playstyle, I'd argue is a valid point of discussion.
