Team List NZ Warriors v Parramatta Eels - [Round 9, 2026]

What are the chances of Healey dropping off and Mets warming back into the team as the 14? I think it is unfair on young Healey who's been given barely any minutes to make an impact. But I could see Webby seeing this as a way of adding impact from the bench and some extra speed to back up any future line breaks from the middle.

They are probably there as possible cover for CHT after his head clash last week but I thought Hansen would have been a better option but the medical staff would have had the last say. If anyone could do with a bit of time off it would be CHT
Available Metty and TMM are senior to Hanson at this point but that's also a nod to the blokes that Webby (right or wrong) sees value in them getting their bums on seats. Also with Mr. Metcalf, I love that he's not played many games. This is a prime time to get him back and iron out the wrinkles.

I could deffo see the impact off the bench being Mets into 6, and CHT into 9 in the last 20 minutes instead of Healey coming on.

For a game or two at least. Might be good for Healey to play 60 min in Cup to freshen him up a wee bit too. I feel hes coming on and knowing hes only got less than 20 min a game so is trying to force the game a little

Do you think the same might apply to Mets only coming on with 20 minutes and trying to hard.

I'm not a fan of changing our halves mid game but that's probably what will happen.

I hope he is not there to be a wishart/TMM type player off the bench. As that's not a easy role to fill IMO. It would also not surprise me to see him play for NSW cup. As i doubt there has been a game this year where that 5 man bench has stayed the same as TLT.

Crazy how the fanbase has turned on Mets
I don't think anyone has turned on him. CHT & Boyd are our form halves and winning games. Mets came back from injury and was a bit off the pace. Then got injured again.

Now hes available , Most of us don't want to break up a winning halves combination that is working well together.

It will take a while for mets to find his mojo. No use rushing him back unless either one of CHT or Boyd turn to cake.

Nah. People have turned on him. Not all. But there are some who don't see any value in him not just because of his two games this season but because of his injury history and his record not being what they expect from a player of his pay bracket

But...what are you finding so crazy about the situation?

Metcalf is maybe one of the most injury prone players out there atm, his record is abysmal at staying on the park. I wish it wasnt the case but thats fact.

Hes obviously a good player, but with those injuries its been impossible to plan a team around him. But, he was all we had last year so offered him a good contract.

We now have a player, who, with the players around him is able to implement Webby's plan. As a result of this, we're sitting in 2nd and have looked better as a team than we ever have with Metcalf. Imo, this is the best we've looked in a long time, even better than 2023 with SJ.

AND hes younger than Met?
AND his body holds up better than Mets?
AND hes cheaper than Met?

I'd love us to be able to include Met in the team some how, but its going to take an injury, huge drop of form, or Met to offer something that Boyd and CHT aren't, because atm he's not taking either of their spots.

I find it kind of odd how personally people are taking this whole Metcalf thing.

This!

I still see value in Luke Met - just I also see value in TB. You can't expect people not to consider the injury profile where comparing two players who are both capable of wearing the 7
