Watching Sunday footy show. Man Billy Slater is a top class footy mind. Would love to see him coach a club

Actually I don't think we lost the forward battle at all. They scored a bunch of fluky tries long-range which weren't the result of them building pressure or dominating field possession. If anything, I think we had longer periods, especially in the 2nd half, where we dominated possession in their red zone.

Forwards did their job last week as they have done all year: we just lacked the finesse to ice those opportunities due to the new combinations in the spine we were running in that game. If we had held Mets back, I suspect we probably win that game last week well. But over the long-run, reintroducing Mets will be good for us, even if there are slight blips on the radar like last week. He will be better for the run he had last week.

Overall, no need for drastic changes today. Just better execution of our existing gameplan that has worked so well this year. We already have the cheat code to beat these guys as we've done so the last 3 times at Shark Park. Just have to execute it.

Hoping for a big lift from the forwards from their past outing. Halves/backline got a lot of heat from last outing against Tigers but IMO after the initial 20 mins we lost the forward battle against the lesser heralded Tigers pack, and everything compounded from there.

why do you say Curran? I always thought he was one of our best during the COVID years and 2023. Was sad to see him go.
He was talented but must not be massively coachable as the Dogs dropped him to a bit part player pretty quickly, and we didn't seem particularly keen to keep him on. Can only assume his motivation and/or consistency isn't there.

Curren was with us quite a while before playing fg. He realised he had to get fitter and worked hard snd made it. He was a very good player for us but got a better desl from Canterbury. He is an Aussie so reasonable for him to go home

Better not be some ego battle between Metcalf and Boyd man
As long as Boyd's in this form, Mets is just gonna have to suck it up! He can still be a great 6.

If we have figured out that we are a unit then we can fire and burn the Sharks.

Balance for our halves is important. This game has been around for yonks. Play as a team and get your egos in check. Then we can be our best.

Watching the game at the in laws in Hawkes Bay with extended family. All dyed in the wool union fans who will watch the Wahs but sort of look down their noses and make comments about PI culture and attitude. I’m just hoping we don’t embarrass ourselves so I can tell them all to chud up and sidown 😂

Looks like we are hammering the defensive grids in the warm up with almost full contact.

Gonna be interesting to see if this is one of those weeks where they got flogged at training for the 50 missed and come out hunting the Sharks.

Come on!

For sure. I was expecting a bit more of a diplomatic response from him based on Tanah’s form. The fact that he’s come out and said he still wants to be the 7 and needs the ball in his hand to succeed probably wouldn’t sit well with Tanah
It's ok in my book. Metty needs to prove it this season by staying on the field to gather that evidence to back his claim. Tanah's ahead at this moment and I still see room for them both or for Luke to use the force and get that jersey back. Be competitive.
