Unsubstantiated rumour - I am not claiming this is true but doing the rounds

Drinkwater has been dropped and Purdue is playing full back with Laybut in the centres

Lisati expected to be out for four weeks with a calf injury. An easy swap for Couchman for those who don't have him in their squad yet.

I got off to such a bad start in round one that my year cooked already. So I am going to use this year to become a better player. This year I have a strategy and will make my decisions according to my strategy. This means I will sometimes have false negatives and false positives but we will see if I go better than previous years rankings.

That's one of the problems with this game, if you don't start well, you feel like you're behind the whole time. Was like that for me 2024. List your team so I can see?

Exactly I was 80,000th rank after round one and even if I make trades other guys in front of me are making trades
Can you see this?

Your team looks pretty good, you’ve taken a couple of risks but overall you’re pretty well set. Sometimes you take those risks and they come off and you look like a prophet.

Unfortunately Toby Couchman hasn’t been what he was last year and that’s a decent chunk of salary to have tied up in a mediocre scorer. You probably already know and see where you can improve but your team is not far off at all.

I was going to trade away Couchman this round but made some other moves instead, He is on my radar for trading. He got 46 points in the fist 80 minutes of the game round one. Inexplicably Flanno wouldn't give him any minutes round two. I figured I would give him one more chance. May live to regret that.

The mystery to me is why I was ranked 80 000th after round one. I scored 820 points which is a reasonable score. In past years I have had rounds of 650 and 750 so I was quite pleased to get 820 in round one, and I genuinely thought there was a glitch with the rankings. I was expecting to be ranked around 40000th with a score of 800. Anyway it was all a mystery to me and now I am behind the 8 ball..

Let's see how Toby goes.. I will celebrate anything over 40 points.

I’d say it was down to a couple of cheapies that a lot people had. Lisati getting a 70 and Leo a 67 lifted a lot of players higher.
The good news that this early, points can be clawed back. With the way Kiraz went last night it will knock a few players down some ranks. Better to be behind early than late.

Couchmans role looks to be much different to when he was pumping out 60+ last year and no one had any way to know that was gonna happen. Pure bad luck, not bad strategy.

Are you still online Barzak
Due to some cashdown trades I made I had enough cash to trade Fifita to Herbie. I do want to bring in Herbie and I considered Couchman to Herbie. Would that have been better? And just keep the unspent salary cap for a rainy day?

Purely opinion but out of the 2 I’d keep Fifita and lose Couchman. I have Herbie and he’s never a bad player to have. Whichever trade you do it’s good to get Herbie in but I’d have traded Couchman before Fifita.

I would rather do Couchman to Herbie. Liddle coming back puts a lot of spanners in the works. Fifita is not losing you money and can go big. He has a bye in week 4 to refresh and allow you to loop.

As Barzak said. Your team isn't that bad. A few points this end of the tournament would be heaps of rankings. I went from 40k I think to 7k in a week.

Thanks Gentlemen I made that trade adjustment.
I have captained Nathan Cleary in the next game as a risk to gain some lost ground.
