As recommended, I have gone out and spent some more of my cap that I was hoarding for no good reason lol, I'm now at 467K

The question is now, Do I trade for Terrell May, which would give me 10k in space, or do I trade for Tom Gilbert, which would keep me flexible with 143k and beef up my edges (which is almost non-existent)

May is a must have.
The bottom trade looks very good.

I have made the infamous Haas trade.
Cleary for Haas - Primarily because Cleary has 100 BE and if I am lucky I might be able to get him later
and Fuieiaki for D Egan a bargain basement player who I will laugh heartily if he turns out to be good. I had the choice of three bargain basement players and he was the best of the three, On NRL debut this week for St George,.
Believe it or not but I still don't have Starford in my team. Maybe next week.

This week i am up against the Wahzaks who are undefeated so that sounds ominous.

Yeah I am in the same boat, Metcalf, iongi, Cole and Purdue on the bench. Thinking iongi has peaked at -8k for the season. Might have a look at wrightys guy. I’ll sell iongi and I bet he’ll get some decent scores when Moses is back.
If you want a cheapie my recommendation is Halasema. I plan to get him next week.

Generally I try to get players who are 50+ minutes as anything less relies heavily on high tackle count or attacking stats. Harry Hayes is an exception and someone I’ve been keeping an eye on. I was going to get him last week but took to’a instead for more cash. He makes a lot of tackles for 40 minutes.
In saying that, I may just hold my trades for the week and look at a couple of trades next week. Fletcher sharpe is high on my list, might swap kpp for Lucas also

I wonder if Owen Pattie will see 30+ minutes a game for the rest of the year or if he played that much because of the smithies injury. He’s a bargain if he can get 30 minutes at 243k

Anyone not aware, this is a blooooooody phenomenal free resource if you are into the stats tracking.

One of may favourites is looking at ownership across top 100, 1000 & 5000

Payne Haas for example is owned by 100% of the top 100 and 99% of the top 1000 fantasy players this year.

The guy that runs this also generously does not remove historical players. Prime Simon Mannering was a gun!

I have changed my trades slightly

In the end I just wanted to be a Starford owner. I am not going to win our comp so I just have decided to enjoy myself. I also had Fizurg's advice at the back of my mind that all 21 of your players need to be useful/generating cash and I thought if D Egan turns out to be a bump on a log I am in trouble given some of my other picks.
As a placeholder note to myself i need to bring in a Fullback to replace the loss of Hammer next week.
Will trade away Toia present value $360K
For either depending on my scouting of them this week.
1) Tamale - 2024 NSW cup fantasy points 45.4 -turned 20 in Dec 2024 - current price $383K BE 24
2) DeGroot* - depending on Kini's injury status - Queensland cup 2024 avg fantasy points 23.2 - Turned 22 in March - $300K BE 23
3) Thomas Jenkins - 2024 NSW cup fantasy points avg 28 - 2025 two games only average 65 - turned 24 in March 188cm 94 kgs - 256K BE 16

Right, I’m sulking back into chat after my delightful 667 points last week.

Out of those trades the second one is the one I’d go for.
We are only three rounds in. A lot can happen and head to head can be fickle. Keep grinding and you will likely be surprised how much you can turn a season around.
Tamale is one you ideally want. He’s scored well other than last week (that happens with outside backs) and has WFB CTR dual which is super handy.
I’m grabbing Jenkins as I need a WFB. But Stewart and Kautoga are probably more exciting options.
Trades for me this week
Lucas to Haas
Brimson to Jenkins.
Honestly don’t love them, just getting left behind without Haas. Brimson will possibly be back at fullback in a couple of weeks and will want him back.

Yeah, I’m trying to find ways to get haas in, but struggling to find a way without selling one of my keepers. I will probably have to buy him at 1m+ later down the track. On a positive Cleary will be at a huge discount soon

Welcome back Fizurg you have been missed.

Thanks for the Tamale tip will work on that one next week.
Jenkins has the casual athlete's endorsement and Jenkins has knocked Casey Maclean out of the side. I think a lot of eyes will be on him.

I have a tough match up this week against someone who is 3-0 will see how I get on.

At this stage now that nearly all of us will have Haas this weekend - nearly everyone's forward pack including middles and second rowers looks identical.

The person who can most quickly work out the right WFBs to take is going to win the comp (amongst those who Haas off the bat)

It’s you and I this week Wrighty. To be honest I shouldn’t be 3-0 so don’t worry about my record. Like most I had a shocking week last week. Began the week with Lucas and Turbo in my team. Made my changes during the week, removed Lucas and prayed Turbo would come right. I had to take that hit as a 0 when he was ruled out. Had Watson and Cleary both go down with HIAs during the weekend too. Should be a good contest.

Sounds good Barzak

Your trades this week are locked to my sight. I can't see who you have moved in for Cleary and Watson. Are you willing to tell me who will be playing in those positions? I know curiosity killed the cat and you don't have to tell me if you don't want to. I have posted my trades I made above and I won't be changing them.

Thanks -

Our teams are very evenly matched I think and will come down to whether Turbo has a blinder.
I also have Toia (who plays first) and Stewart on loop. So part of it will come down to whether I get the call right on who to play. I have made myself a pre-set rule that if Toia goes 40 and above I will stick with him. If 39 or less I will sub in Stewart.
