NRL NRL ROUND 6 GENERAL DISCUSSION

Hau is becoming a consistent try scorer
A bargain basement buy
I read they had to upgrade him to keep others away
Morrin has been playing well
And the spine of Jc Illias Kini just starting to click a bit

Think it was bears after Hau?

The tigers look A LOT better than they did in 2025.

Their defense, for one, is actually quite good. You also have to remember that they smacked us around WITHOUT Luai
again, we are five weeks in. One week is a long time in NRL, let alone 23. Just last week people were seriously suggesting Penrith would go through the season undefeated. Yet they just got undone by a Canterbury side that had been struggling to score 10 pts a game. So I'm reserving judgments on Tigers/Knights until at least origin time.

Problem with NRL punditry is people jump the gun way too early and are made to look silly later in the year when shit hits the fan for teams that just couldn't maintain the rage. Tigers being the perfect example. This time last year everyone was talking about the Benji revolution when they were comfortably in the 4 leading into their loss against us at Campbelltown. TBH I'm not seeing anything from the Tigers so far that is markedly different to how they played last year.

As for our game against them, I'd caution against drawing too many conclusions out of any one game. We didn't turn up for that game. They did. If we turned up with the physical intensity of yesterday, they wouldn't have been able to go with us 2 weeks ago. Case in pt: that same tigers team barely scraped a win 8 days later against an eels team that is currently getting toweled up by the tits.

Broken play is where the titans thrive. Can imagine them targeting some of our players who seem to fall off of tackles in that same kick return style. Having Lofi in the squad would be good defensively (cannot bealive how good he was yesterday in that respect, never thought at the start of the year i'd say that).

Yes, yes, yes. I know.

But we have to talk about something, don't we? How about: their results are looking quite 'promising'.

Better?

It's all eye test at the moment, but they're far more dominant in the traditional sense. Last year they were waaaaaay more off the cuff.

Yeah, sure. But they still bet us without their key play maker. That's worthy of credit.

Does that invalidate any of Penriths victories because they were pumped by the dogs who were beaten by the knights, who we pumped? How long do you want to chase ya tail? Ya know?

Part of the fun of footy is being hyperbolic, right? Let the plebs, like myself, have fun 🤣

gotta wrap up the offloads next week. Next Saturday has rain forecast, so hopefully the conditions will play into our hands next week. I can't remember the last time we beat the tits at home. Could be another streak we break next week.
